Regal Oriental Hotel Hong Kong Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

This was my 4th trip to HK and my 3rd staying at the Regal Oriental. I love the location - right next to where the airport used to be in upper Kowloon. It's close enough to the hustle and bustle of Mong Kok thanks to he excellent transport system without being too busy, and thankfully well away from the far more western Homg Kong island. The neighbourhood is great and contains the Kowloon Walled City Park, which is well worth exploring for a bit of recent history. The hotel itself is good, decently priced and comfortable. The only issue for me is the pricing of their wifi service, which could be called extortionate!

Stayed at Regal Oriental Hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. The ambiance of the room is excellent. You can smell from the front door the cleanliness of the hotel. Although the room is small, my 2 children were able to enjoy and roam around. Will be staying here if in Hong Kong.

The location is quite good, easy to access to the public transport and the food district is just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay in general.

Strong and lingering smoking smell inside the room probably due to the large number of clients from mainland China whose males are mostly likely cigarete smokers. You must book for the hourly shuttle and it often fully book fairly quickly. There is no MTR nearby in Kowloon City. Fortunately nearby buses to central city are plentiful.

The hotel itself is located in a handy location with plenty of public transport options (except MTR) and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Room rates are super competitive and this was my main reason for staying this time. I tried both their superior room and standard room. The superior room is worth the extra money if you can make the stretch. You get bigger rooms and more bathroom privacy (the standard rooms make do with only a white shower curtain to cover over clear not frosted glass). I had a blocked toilet which was quickly resolved even though it occured at midnight!

This hotel has a good view of the old 'city' airport, nice view although lots of construction is going. Location is convenient with lots of authentic HongKong food within walking distance. Fantastic experience hopping onto the mini buses.

The room is clean and the twin beds are big. However, there's no car park at all for guests and therefore its not convenient for friends and family to come over. We have to use public transport most of the time.

They gave me a twin room when I booked a double room. The room is OK but does not include breakfast. Generally OK but would be better if includes breakfast.

The room is nice and clean, big enough and good view. It is suit with its price. But the location is quite far from city around 20 minutes by taxi, no swimming pool. You can use the hotel shuttle bus to the city but you need to pay HKD 25/person eventhough you are a hotel guess. I don't like the building sorrounding the hotel, they are old and dirty. The only park that you can visit is Kowloon park nearby to the hotel. The public shuttle bus is around 100 m next to the hotel. When you use bus A22 from airport, you should get off at Regal oriental hotel bus stop, the hotel is in your left side. If you go to Hongkong for shopping, I don't recommend this hotel due to its location. Better you find other hotel around tsim shat tsui area.

Considered room may be a little on the small size. Coffee and Tea should be complimentary. A good quality hotel which we got at a good rate

This is the second time in two years we have stayed at the Regal Oriental. Even though the location is further out we actually prefer this and buses are right outside the door. This trip we had one of the new modern rooms which was great. Very clean, efficient staff. Will definately be staying here again on my next visit to Hong Kong

Was a beautiful hotel and the sky lounge is brilliant at the end of the day. The hotel is a little out of town (about 30 min by bus to the harbour) but the upside is the bus stop is just outside of the hotel. We would stay closer to town next time but a nice quiet hotel.

We ordered a "double" bed but we were offered a double bed which put 2 single beds together as a "double" bed. We had to accept it as we were told that it was the only one on the non-smoking floor. Although we were politely told we could change it if we dont like it after the 1st night, the point is we made a clear order when we book a non-smoking double bedroom well in advance. I think it was 2 to 3 weeks in advance. I would like to be informed if they could not make it in advance, but not during check-in.

The concierge, reservation service and cleaning staff were generally good overall, and their exchange rate is definitely better than having your money exchanged at the Australian Airport. Our only little whinge about their room itself is that they don't provide enough sugar for coffee nor do they provide an iron/ironing board for use. We would've liked to have been given the option of a smoking or non-smoking room to begin with so we didn't have to ask to be transferred. But once we got our non-smoking room, we were very happy. Although the hotel location is a little far away from the main happenings of the city, you only need to take 20 min bus trip (Bus Nos. 1A or 9) to travel directly to Tsim Sha Tsui, where all the major shopping centres eateries are. But definitely check out the Mongkok markets for discounted bags, jeweleries and clothes - which is only 15 minutes away from the hotel using the same bus route!!

Hotel was good value for money. Public transport was excellent. Bus stop just outside the hotel was very convenient. Loved our stay at this hotel and do recommend to others.

Lovely hotel and brilliant service. Shame its some way from the city centre but pretty easy to get one of many buses that run from just round the corner of the hotel. Will definitely stay again!
