"For the price we expected a luxury hotel. We'd upgraded to a premium room, overlooking the canal. We got a dark top floor room with tiny windows. Reception were OK but unapologetic about moving us when we complained. The whole place is in need of refurbishment. Bathroom equipment missing or not wokring: e.g. extractor fan not working, taps falling off when turned. Showers are primitive, though there's plenty of hot water and excellent central heating. The rooms, though big and well furnished, look worn out. But the beds are good. The common areas are stuffed with antiques but shabby: e.g. peeling wall paper. The hotel is under-staffed. The bar is often unattended at peak times. The reception staff is so-so - courteous but not overly concerned. Breakfast was very good. No hotel restaurant although there are lots of great places to eat nearby. The location is wonderful. Bruges is a lovely for a weekend. Next time we'll probably try another hotel." - Louis Alexander
"Marvellously located for tourists, convenient parking close to the hotel, warm and helpful staff, this is a very pleasant and recommandable hotel. We shall come again." - Anonymous
