The hotel is in an excellent position! Easy walking distance to both Main Station and Ximen station. The breakfast is only asian and just juice, coffee and toast available for western taste. Check in is only available after 3pm and no earlier is allowed. Check out is by 12md but they will ring you by 11am to inform you that you need to check out. No assistance with baggage and I was travelling with my elderly mother. The hotel staff are not helpfull at all and one gentleman was extremely rude The staff would not even call for taxi and send you out on the street to hail your own taxi.lThe rooms are sufficent for a short stay. I would not stay at this hotel again due to the lack of service or consideration for their guest.
Very good price for the location. Its very quiet even if its just beside a busy street. The buffet breakfast is also adequate except for the lack of variety. The practically served the same food everyday. The bed is huge- queen size - for the twin sharing and comfortable. The only problem is findingthe hotelt. The taxi drivers in the nearby Taipei Main train station dont know where it is. And its just 200meters from there! The hotel does not have an English sign on the main street.
walking distance to ximen subway. Room decors outdated & dimly lit. Breakfast acceptable for the price u pay. i stayed during the winter time so no airconditioning and hv to open the window which abit noisy facing the road.
Somebody described this hotel as "a former gradiose hotel fallen victim to the ravages of time". It is indeed a very good desciption. Being so close to the centre of Taipai with its excellent shops, eateries, transportation), the hotel is obviously earmarked for demolition. If you are on a budget and not too fuzzy this is the place to stay. However, to avoid dodgy plumbing and associated smells, make sure that you get a room above level 7. Also avoid the breakfast and eat a few streets away across the main road. One of the stalls has the best fried rice I have ever tasted. The staff at the Relite are very helpful and well organised.
The twin bed room is spacious than we expected. The location is very good as it is near to Ximen MRT station and the Taipei Main Station. However, its air-cond leak water on the last night of our stay. Otherwise, it is perfect memory. Overrall, it is value for money hotel.
Even the price and location are fine, there are some room are not clean enough.
Customer service is commendable. The receptionist tries really hard to help us in directions around the city. The location is walking distance from almost all transportation means. The rate is good value for money.
Stayed @ relite last wk it was oppo ximenting. At a corner location but close enough to walk to ximen n rail. Staff is gd. Room Is v big n spacious. Budget hotel wif adequate facilities. Gd!
Pros: Plenty of hot water Fridge TV with many movie channels (English) Close to Ximending Close to bus stop: Zhonghua Beilu stop and Taipei Post office stop Cons: No safe box. Nor in room nor at receptions. You have to carry your valuables all the time. Worn interior (I stayed 3F)
This is my second stay here, and I didn't recognise it. The front and reception area have been modernised and as well it has a new name, "Relite Hotel". Another change is the breakfast service, Before it was served in the room, a slice of toast, preordered the night before, but now buffet breakfast is served on the top floor with a variety of foods, mostly catering for asians. The rest of the hotel is unchanged, but it has clean, large rooms, and a friendly staff. It is handy, a few minutes walk from the station and airport bus terminal. I will no doubt stay there again.
Near to Taipei Train station very convenience to travel around Taipei area. Price very reasonable with breakfast provided. Good place to stay.
Cleanliness poor as no change the bedsheet during few days stay.
This seems to be a high-end hotel that has been overtaken by the ravages of time, which means you get a spacious well equipped room that is a bit worn for a great price. It is on a small lane just off the main road, near the station. There is a large HOTEL sign although the name itself is in the local language. The staff were very obliging and helpful, their english wasn't perfect but that just made the conversation more fun. The lobby was being rebuilt during my visit but they did everything to minimise disruption. We were allowed our room early and gave great advice on where to go for lunch. The Hotel is within walking distance of a huge department store, bus and railway station (incl airport bus), night shopping precinct and MRT subway train. This is a great city to explore even if you speak English only and the locals make you feel welcome. The Breakfast is fine although not spectacular. Over all, we were sad to say goodbye to the staff, the hotel and the city.
With the price u pay i think u can get some other better hotels within the same area..
Breakfast was included, same every morning. Great place to stay on a budget.
A hotel with good location (near Taipei main station), simple yet sufficient facilities. It provides good services and staff are very friendly too.
The little internet access room could use some air conditioning. While the hallways had some poor smells, my room did not.
other than the location is good. not much to mention.
Lilai has no more than you can expect for the price, but makes a convenient drop point in Taiwan, close from the MRT station, city center... Reception is basic and won't provide you with a city map (get one from MRT station's information desk) nor advice, but will keep your luggage for the day upon request. Breakfast is to be ordered before sleeping -otherwise a late phone call will wake you up. It is hung at the door and is much better (sandwich + cold drink) than some served in hotels with actual breakfast room. Noise from the street can be a problem: bring earplugs. A/C, TV, hair dryer in the room. Bathroom is sufficient enough (shower and bassin); items are provided there. No locker: can be an issue. Windows actually close. Good value, recommended for a short stay.
LiLai is a no frill hotel. Rate is good but bed is hard. It is near to xi men ding as well. Overall not a comfy hotel but it is cheap and has good location.
