No parking and difficult to stop your car at the door because it's a very busy street. Room on the first floor was a good size but noisy because it was between reception and the dining area so we didn't get much sleep. Breakfast was plentiful but not good quality. The staff were very firendly.
The hotel is well situated backing onto the station from which the London trains arrive. It has been recently redecorated in the Rennie Mackintosh style. Downsides: Breakfast was bland and it is not until you have reached reception that any mention of porterage up the stairs to it becomes known - there is no elevator. The layout of the bathroom facilities in my single room was a little idosyncratic Wi-fi is available but only in the lounge not the rooms.
Sleeps one. Includes Full Scottish Breakfast.
Sleeps Two. Includes Full Scottish Breakfast.
TV didn't work in our first room but hotel moved us to another room. Second TV better but reception/channels patchy. Everything else good.
Windows not very good, noisy traffic, net curtains dirty, staircase dirty. Beds and towels lovely and clean, really comfy bed. Shame about the noise, if windows were better fitter, would probably help the noise levels All in all very good stay, staff very friendly, breakfast excellent
The hotel is located just 2 min from the glasgow central station, very close to argyll street where most of the shops like Primark, M& S, debenhams etc are situated so it becomes very convenient for shopping. The bad part is, the hotel is on the main road hence finding parking space is very very difficult, hotel does not provide parking, the hotel is located on the mezzanine floor and our room was on the 1st floor and there is no lift , taking up the luggages was a dreadful task. This hotel is a complete no-no for older people who can't/find it difficult to climb stairs. The room was clean but the bed was very uncomfortable and we just could'nt sleep. Rooms are not sound proof & we could hear moving traffic upto wee hrs which made sleeping even more difficult. The bathroom is spacious but our shower was broken , no internet in the room. Morning breakfast was also just OK. Avoid it . There are 2 rennine mackintosh hotel so be careful while booking. The one we stayed is on Union St
Please note that the Station Hotel has ceased to exist and that this one is not on the Actual Station but a short walk out of the station. The room was very small, but clean and very quiet . A very cheap price for the city centre but the breakfast was not good!
For what we wanted this hotel was perfect - perfect location, nice clean room - a bit small - but we weren't there much, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, great price. Beside Central Station and around the corner from all the great shops. We really had a great stay and would stay there again. Fran, Ireland
Hotel was very basic offering a bed and little else but served a purpose and was clean and secure
Well located, value for money hotel.
In a prime location in the heart of the city, yet it is very quiet inside the hotel room. The is however occasional shaking that can be felt as the train station is below. Free internet was a plus. The included hot breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly. Modern bathroom, comfortable bed. Hundreds of satellite TV stations. Very much enjoyed our stay there & especially since we payed half the hotel price by booking online.
Clean and functional. Good if you are on a budget.
central location , clean enough , ideal for a cheap place to stay after a night out in glasgow if all you want is somewhere to sleep , would have no hesitation in using again , does exactly what it says on the tin! be warned though it is £3 for a tin of tennants at the bar , i would recommend taking your own!
Basic hotel perfect for short stay, my room was very comfortable bathroom/toilet very small but very clean, fresh towels and room cleaned every day perfect hotel for city stay
A lovely clean fresh hotel, central within easy access to town and transport, would definatly reccomend it, and we will use it again and again
Friendly and helpful staff. Of its type, budget oriented, perfectly acceptable.
BREAKFAST SEEMED TO BE A PROBLEM-PARTLY I THINK DUE TO STAFFING PROBLEM-SO MAY BE TEMPORARY
The room was up 5 flights of very steep stairs. There was no lift. The carpet in the room was very wet - I think the rain had come through the velux window. The furniture was very basic. I will not be staying in this hotel again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
The hotel is good for a short term stay and at a very good price. The service was very good and we had a very good breakfast. My only issue is the noise outside at night especially on a Saturday night when you have your bedroom facing the street.
a great wee hotel .very nice staff. will book this hotel in the future
Very noisy all night - rooms at front are directly across from a city centre bus stop and fast food outlet - noisy until about 6am.
