San Marco 4868/4869 (Calle de le Balote). Venice 30124 Italy
Residenza Ca’ San Marco is a very cosy and comfortable guest-house made inside a wing of the ancient monastery next to the church of San Salvador. This hotel was completely restored, both inside that outside, in 2003, and nevertheless it has maintained the style and the charm of the ancient monastery intact.. Every room has been created and furnished according to the particular atmosphere that pervades the city of Venice. Superior and standard rooms are furnished in Old Venetian Style, considering the aspect of being functional and not forgetting the great care given to the details that make every room unique. Every room is painted with different colours, thus recalling the plasters of the typical houses of Venetian islands and also the pieces of furniture have different tonalities (red, yellow, pink, and blue). Even bathrooms have been thought in a way that they have been personalized in every room. You will be immersed in the typical Venetian atmosphere thanks to the great location of the hotel. It is situated in a really characteristic Venetian alley (calle) crossed by a little canal on which two of our most elegant rooms overlook. Moreover, you are only 200 metres far from San Marco’s Square and just a few steps from the magnificent Rialto Bridge. You can easily reach two of the most important symbols of Venice, enjoying as well the surreal quiet that only the magical atmosphere of Venice can offer. PLEASE NOTE THAT IS A NO SMOKING HOTEL

Generally speaking, the hotel is ok. Has two buildings, I stayed at the 2nd called "La Campana" (better). The room was very nice, and in fact they gave us a better room than the one we had booked for the same price, since it was empty! The only thing I disliked was that the service was a bit poor. 1. We asked to fix the heating, that wasn't working, and never got fixed 2. We moaned that the glasses were dirty, but they never replaced them with clean ones.
The best thing about this hotel is its location - roughly halfway between Rialto and San Marco, or about 5 mins walk either way. The hotel is very difficult to find at first, so make sure you get good directions from the hotel before arrival. Once you get the hang of the streets of Venice, finding it a second time is not a major problem. And since the hotel is located down a small laneway, it is reasonably quiet at night. The hotel rooms are reasonably sized - we did not have a problem with space inside. The hotel is clean and fairly modern. The receptionist spoke good English and was also friendly and helpful. There is no elevator in the hotel so guests with large bags may have some difficulty; however, the receptionist is more than willing to offer assistance. The breakfast and is included and is OK. The price of the rooms is very reasonable, espeically given the (good) location of the hotel. We stayed there in October 2010.
Not to easy to find, but very good location.Recomended.
excellent accommodation great location value for money
Difficult to find, in a quiet laneway, but close to San Marco's Square.
The room was beautiful and romantic and the location was ideal, right in the center of everything in Venice. The staff was also welcoming and helpful; their directions to the hotel were excellent as the hotel is located in a narrow alleyway. You do have to leave your room key at the desk every time you leave the hotel, but we had no problems. We would happily stay here again.
A small and well located hotel in Venice. Staff are very helpful and speak English. Excellent value.
Difficult to locate for the first time but excellent location when found
The place is on a hidden alley of the shopping district. It´s not a hotel, it is more of an inn. Good service.
I stayed at this cute little Residenza for 3 nights in mid-October. Very good service, and nicely-decorated rooms. About the only hitch is it's a bit difficult to find, as they're on a small side alley off a couple of the main shopping streets in Venice's San Marco district. Still, I would definitely stay again if coming back to Venice -- a good deal for the price and an excellent location overall.
Very clean and neat place. Room very small though. Nice, clean and well sized bathroom. Breakfast nice, but a little tedious. The only thing that was disappointing was that the front desk was left unattended at times, with only a note being left telling customers to take their key to enter their rooms! This was a little unsafe, as anyone could have access to the rooms.
A very small but nice hotel and indeed close to Rialtobridge (please bear in mind that you need a good map to find it!) There were only two more guests so it was also very quiet. Personnel is very friendly. Breakfast was modest but ok (although the coffee wasn't freshly made on the 2nd day..) Pricing is a bit high in my opinion but it's certainly a good hotel to consider booking.
nice place but there is almost no lobby and the rooms are spread out! However the rooms are really nice
Nice, cosy, clean sophisticated hotel no complaints
We stayed for two nights at the place. The facility is recently modernized so everything is very clean. The staffs arevery helpful and speak very good English. The location is very close to St. Marco which enabled us to go back to the room to change clothes, drop backpacks, etc. several time a day. The bedroom is kind of small but it does not matter to us since we did not spend much time in the room anyway. Like all Europe hotels, the bed is a full-size bed by American standard and is kind of small for two persons. The breakfast is OK. The only thing that it can be improved is the breakfast time. It should start earlier than 8:00 am.
This was my second stay in Venice, and by far the nicest. The staff here are extremely nice and the bathroom was beautiful with a whirlpool spa bath. Breakfast was the usual continental, with a large range of spreads and whole fruit. It's a very easy, short walk from the rialto stop on the water bus. I would definitely recommend this hotel. So close to all major attractions and transport.
breakfast could be improved
Ca 'San Marco Venice is a perfect place to stay, very central to all the interesting points. We had a great time over there. It's a very cosey place to stay, although the walls are pretty thin.... The Hotel has several rooms in one building and 2 rooms extra a few meters further down the small alley where it's located. That's where we had our room.
Very small hotel but cosy. Limited breakfeast buffet.
Amazing hotel, in a very comfortable place to see the whole Venice.
