"If you want to have a decent place to stay while in Venice and not have to worry about travel into central Venice and waste money on travel by either bus or vapparato Hotel San Maurizio is the place to stay.
They do have a strange policy on wanting to keep room keys every time you leave the hotel, but then again that was good for me cos i might have lost it otherwise.
Recommend this hotel even if the rooms were a bit cheesy decor wise." - Anonymous
"First night we were placed in a room which was an absolute dump with a.o. a broken windpow covered with plastic which did not close properly. Also the sperate shower was very dirty. Upon our request we were transferred to a comfortable room for the 3 consecutive nights and the shower was clean. Apparently the part we were staying is under renovation now." - Riekent van den Dolder
"Hotel location is good - only a short walk from boat jetty & less than 5 minutes walk to St. Mark's Square.
Room is clean & pleasant-looking. However, it was infested with some mosquitos. It was also hot & stuffy as air-conditioning is centrally-controlled & cannot be adjusted inside the room.
Bathroom is modern with relatively good facilities. " - Anonymous
"It was a very nice hotel to stay in for the bare minimums. The rooms were elegantly decorated and clean as well. As far as a location you couldn't have too much better with san marco square close by but don't forget to go to the square the opposite way as well, there are alot of little places to go. The management was polite and helpful with what tours and concerts to go to. " - dustin hodde
