The staff, and especially the tour desk personnel, went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. The outdoor restaurant and club on the top floor was a great place to end each of our days.
Best place. Great central lovation close to everything. This hotel has real old world character in a modern renovated hotel. We were given free uphrase to Rex room and late check out. We had prev stayed at the Oscar and the Rex is by far superior in every way. Loved it and would def recommend. Only down point was the music bellowing in public areas frOm very early, 6.3O I was woken. Not my idea of a great start to the say. Otherwise, fantastic hotel
Our deluxe rooms offer that little bit extra space than our superior rooms. Bright and airy, they provide nice views of the lively city, yet are quiet enough for a tranquil nights sleep.
In the Junior Suite you can enjoy a fantastic view of the city lights from your own private balcony, and relax in your comfortable separate sitting room.
This family sized room offers fantastic views over the bustling downtown area. The sitting room is the perfect place to wind down and enjoy a relaxing drink and reflect on the historic charm of the Rex Hotel .
With a wonderful mix of bright yellow wall, warm natural wood furniture,LCD tivi and parquet flooring creates the backdrop for a completely relaxed stay as being home.
Nice hotel which is well situated. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The layout of the hotel is a little confusing, but overall a good choice if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in HCM. However, not an outstanding choice.
After reading other reviews about the rex i booked with abit of trepidation. Made sure i got a room in the new wing.Rooms a bit small.Ours overlooked the courtyard so it was very quiet.Didn't have to hear any street noise which was fantastic. The staff are excellent and the roof top bar is a great place to unwind. The two pools are o.k. nothing special but they do the job.Location is excellent on main road and close to market and other sightseeing. You must try a restaurant around the corner in Pastuer st.nha hang ngon.Fantastic food.Would stay again if i could have same room.
This is a hotel with good location with 5 min walk to the red cathedral church and old post office. Diamond shopping plaza is another 3 min walk from post office. Drawback is that we were assigned in the old wing @ 2/F which the room is a bit outdated and we heard the traffic noise. Maybe we should book new wing room next time. In general staff is polite and helpful. Recommended to stay!
The hotel was lovely and our stay was very pleasant. The staff and our room were excellent. We would advise that any tours be booked out of the hotel as they are almost double the price of any of the local travel agents within Ho Chi Minh city.
Very friendly, pleasant and helpful staff (from front desk, tourist information, housekeeping). Great location which is convenient to most of the tourist spots. First night staying at the old wing was rather unpleasant (facilities old, noisy outside), but staff was extremely helpful and agreed to switch to the new wing which was much nicer with new furnishing and quieter environment. Nice buffet breakfast. Highly recommended. Will stay again for subsequent visits.
located in the heart of HCMC which was ideal. Rooms are okay and breakfast was good (bathroom could do with a renovation). The roof garden restaurant is just great.
Good location and service. Recommended.
Great place to stay the beds are a bit hard but other than that it was a great stay.
ourstay was Christmas Eve and despite being very busy service wasexcellent --buffet advertised closed much earlier than advertised. We chose a ro in old secton and were happy with that.
The Rex is in the heart of HCMC and is a great place to stay for the first time visitor. The rooms in the older section of the hotel give a feeling of the colonial atmosphere with modern facilities. The staff could not be more friendly. We particularly enjoyed the roof top restaurant and bar which provides both excellent food and good entertainment. The same can be said of both Chinese restaurants in the hotel. There is no doubt we would stay there again and will recommend it to our friends.
The newly refurbished Rex Hotel is clean & comfortable. We booked a junior suite, which altho' was in the old wing, has been spruced up to look more modern. Great beds. Huge, huge room! We had a look at both the twin-bed option and the king-bed option. The one with the king bed looked tired and old so weobviously went for the twin beds. Location is fantastic - within walking distance to most of the attractions there; 5 min walk to DOng Khoi St and across the road from 3 shopping centres. Receptionists speak good English. Good spread for buffet breakfast (free with room booking).
I was given an internal room with no windows in the old part of the hotel for a 5 day stay - not acceptable. The place is a rabbit warren of corridors and stairs and the old part is rather tired to say the least. However very centrally located and staff certainly tried hard.
The Front desk staff very courteous, concierge was also very helpfull in keeping our luggages till 16.00., Overall this is very good hotel, and when return I should stay in Rex Hotel.
After reading other advice we decided to stay in the new wing (Premium room). It was extra spacious, clean, well serviced and had a great outlook over a small park towards the City Hall. Staff were always friendly and helpful. As we had a late flight out they were very helpful in storing our luggage and offering us full use of the bathroom facilities connected to the gym. Would thoroughly recommend the new section of the hotel.
The hotel is located right in the city centre. The rooms of the new wing were excellent. The ones I saw of the old part were a bit smelly of the old carpet. But I understand everything will be renovated soon. staff was very friendly and I appreciated the buffet breakfast (with good dim sum) a lot. Would certainly go back.
One of my favourite Hotels ever. Staff are first class. This place has an old world style and I always enjoy staying here. If you want 5 star impersonal go to the Sheraton... you could have stayed home... The Rex is old Saigon. If you need a driver ask for Mr Tan outside the front door, say KK sent you. He knows everywhere and can be hired for $50-$100 for the whole day depends how much you Tip. Nothing is too much trouble at the Rex just ask.
nice place
A nice hotel but not top end you have free gym but the pool is very smal Location is perfect
