Rex Swiss Quality Hotel Zurich

Rooms and Hotels very clean. Breakfast Room is very clean. And the breakfast served is good. But we encounter the most funniest ways of checking ourselves into this hotel as we reach the hotel nearly midnight. The hotel is all locked up and dark, we thought we have been cheated as we booked through the internet. Luckily my wife is fast enough to press the button and we were greeted by a lady through the intercom telling us to press the code number so that we could get the main key to go into the hotel. And our room's key card was there on the check in counter. But location wise, an advantage to include in your brochure how to get to the hotel. As we reach the train station very late, all information counter were already closed, nobody at the train station that is literate enough was too keen in helping us, so we were forced to take a taxi that cost us like chf17.00 when we could just pay chf4.00 for 2 persons on the tram to your hotel.

Overall an excellent hotel. Easily accessible by bus. There is a little grocery store opposite the hotel that opens till about 9pm (earlier during the weekend I think) where you can buy sandwiches etc. Internet is a bit expensive though. During my stay (in early Oct 2008), there were some changes to the bus routes. It was Bus 11 instead of Bus 7 (as indicated on the website) that took me to the hotel. It may be advisable to confirm this with the hotel before checking in.

Location was very convenient, right on the tramline, but these trams start running at 5.30am!!

Service is very good. As I left hotel in the early morning while the front dest was closed, the receipt was mailed to me. Internet access is expensive.

The room was very nice. Small but clean and very nicely decorated. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. The location of the hotel was good, only a short walk from old town Zurich. The hotel staff were lovely and would definately recommend this hotel to first timers to Zurich. Loved it.

It is a great hotel. Clean and helpful staffs. It is not convenient for walking but very convenient if use tram. Breakfast is very good at this hotel.

Room was excellent and beautiful, modern,large and quiet. Hotel was very clean, nice and kindly staff and breakfast was delicious! We respected residential area and it was easy to go by tram.

I think this has been said before - great hotel but the trams are very noisy and they do run all night.

Required to take a tramp to the hotel and therefore it is not centrally located. Breakfast is the same on allthe days no variety.

The gal at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

I loved everything about this hotel. From location to pricing. One small point though, the wash basin in the attached toilet needs a little getting used to. It's a little to compact. Otherwise, this hotel is extremely accessible from the main station by tram. Just take No. 7 or 15 and alight at Ottiker Str. I wished they had mentioned this on their homepage. But then again, maybe they wanted it less known for good reason. This place is a gem of a hotel. Highly recommended.

Its a nice small hotel within walking distance from the center. The room is small, nice and clean. It has all basic amenities, but only basic. Nice double bed, small TV, two chairs. The bathroom was clean, but had only shower. I think for the price its expensive, but again its in Switzerland and nothing is cheap here.

Its a basic small hotel. Near to center and almost next to tram stop. Its a very good hotel if you are planning to go out every day and roam the city and using the hotel room just to sleep.

For the money, the best hotel you can find in Zurich. It is not a five star hotel, but very clean, modern and comfortable. Highly recommended.
