Good hotel but not on the Kyoto Metropolitan Subway. Is on the Hankyu line though, making the connection to the east of Kyoto or even Osaka a breeze.

Positive things: - Good transportation options (bus, subway) - Friendly personnel - You can buy a good breakfast menu in a bakery called "Bread's" in the nearest intersection. Negative things: - Not the newest hotel in town - Difficult to control the temperature in the room - Wouldn’t buy their breakfast menu

It is a good hotel to stay in as its abt 15minutes from the station by cab and its costs abt 1300 to 1600 yen depending on the trafic. It is also located around the corner from the subway that takes you to the must see places. Price is paid for location ....rooms are good...pick of resturants outside and staff speak english.

Good stay. We got a non smoking room that we preferred. Internet was also free to use. Breakfast could be a little better. Subway-station is just behind a corner and it takes only 5 minutes to the central of Kyoto. Also a railway to Arasiyama is very near. Great sushi-restaurant (recommended in Lonely Planet) was just behind a corner too.

Good hotel in a fairly busy part of town staff were friendly and efficient. Not all that obvious that it's a hotel from outside with reception hidden away on the second floor. Plenty of food and activity on your doorstep. Expect to pay around 1800 Yen for a taxi from Kyoto Station.

Was further away from things than i first expected, and although right next door to two stations neither of them were JR lines.

A Lovely large room that was well equipped and right near a bus stop and subway. Staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was very adequate and gave you a good start ready to explore the beautiful city of Kyoto. My husband and I highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are bigger than most I've been to in Japan. Very clean as well. Staff are very friendly, prompt and helpful. They provide local map stating eateries nearby, as well as directions to places of interest. 1 min walk from Saiin Subway Station. However, you'll have to change train line after 1-2 stop as it terminates at Kawaramachi, in order to go anywhere. Alternative, lots of buses at flat fare of 220 yen, at the junction of Saiin Station. Overall, very pleasant stay at the Hotel.

THe hotel was very far from the main attractions of Kyoto, therefore making time travel to certain destinations (such as Gion) very long. Also, you only get internet access in the room if you bring your own laptop.

The hotel looks impressive from the outside but is quite small inside. The staff are not overly helpful nor do they speak English well. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the nearest station although is in a relatively popular location in Nagoya.

First of, most of their staff can speak English. Secondly, the hotel is located just 6 minutes (or 3 subway stations) from downtown Kyoto, Kawaramachi. Also, you can go any places easily either by train or by bus. The room (including bathroom) were clean at the time of our stay in the room no. 611. Anyhow, the room size was as expected (not too big, but not too small). This hotel is good for being a hub if you plan to go sightseeing around Kyoto/Arashiyama/Osaka/Nara areas. Besides that, the bed is very comfy and helps you recover from being sore and tired and ready for the next day of traveling.

This is my second stay in two years. I plan to stay here again when I next visit Japan. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms although small in comparison with Australian hotels are well furnished and spotlessly clean. It is on a well-serviced bus route (205) from Kyoto Rail station and can be easily accessed by the subway 2 minutes walk away. Very good meals are served and there are excellent food outlets next door. I appreciated an upgrade and the only request I would have is access to the BBC which is available on other floors. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Booking with the [website] was definitely a great idea. The hotel is actually in a very nice location with the train station right across the street, access to 100yen stores, and nice local bars as well. I would book here again if I ever returned to Japan.

The hotel is about 15 minutes by bus from Kyoto station. Relatively spacious and clean rooms for the price. Please make sure that you get the non-smoking floor (9th floor). We initially booked for two nights but decided to stay there for the rest of the trip. The only slight drawback was the location but it was not much of an issue thanks to the efficient public transport system (bus and rail).
