"An excellent hotel in a very handy location. You can get buses to all the major tourist attractions from kyoto station for just 220 yen. The hotel is a two block walk from the station, or you can catch the free shuttle bus which runs about every 20 minutes. "The hotel is relatively close to Kyoto Station and has a shuttle running there every 15 minutes if you do not feel like walking the short distance. However, don't expect any other freebies: they have wireless internet access and a swimming pool but both will cost you. Their "Top of Kyoto" revolving restaurant doesn't offer much of a view because Kyoto's skyline is not very interesting.
The rooms are comfortable and the staff has decent English skills and was pretty helpful. They even provided a list of nearby stores or buildings that offer computer/internet access.
I'm not sure what the average rates for Righa rooms are, but [website] provided a rate that was better than any other hotel or ryokan around Kyoto Station; I would recommend this place for those looking for minimal accommodations: affordable, convenient, private bathrooms, and comfortable sleep." - Charles Chaung
