More a budget hotel - no Service but a 24 hour counter attendance. Cleanliness very good except for the old & stained carpets. Be aware though that this is an old building so you have to deal with its "character" and condition although generally very well maintained. My room floor was on a little incline, so was the bed. It was quiet as I was there in the winter months but can get noisy at night during the spring and summer season as it is surrounded by pubs and restaurants - but was so tired that I went out like a log as soon as touched the bed. Their famous apple wine in this Sachsenhausen - wonderful! - make sure you "experience" lots of it!!! Other than the minor stuff I had a wonderful and quite comfortable stay. Really good location - walking distance to Museums & 15/20mins walk across the bridge to the fantastically, fabulous, fun and gastronomical delight of one of the oldest Christmas Markets in Germany.
No elevator to reach the first floor with a lot of luggage. Tight hallway and stairways. My room was very small, equipped with two beds and a tiny desk on 10 square metres. Moving around was a problem and would have been worse for bigger guys. Washroom was ok, but dirty. Windows had thin see-through curtains. You get what you pay for. A cheap location in Sachsenhausen, in the middle of the high street, surrounded by pubs.
Rooms are equipped with modern amenities that include WC/shower, hair-drier, working desk, an internet access, television
Good location - very close to Main River and Old Town, good connetions for ex. with fairs ground /by trams, subway/. The very old building, but for me its good point; renovated, maybe the staff could do something more with cleanliness, especially in shower. Part of rooms are very noisy, because around are so many locals - but this is climat of Sachsenhausen ;-) Good price - I can recommend this hotel.
Located on a very noisy street full of bars that are open late into the night (2-3am), this makes sleep without ear plugs very difficult.
