"Overall, similar to other reviews: Not too bad a place, great breakfast, rooms a bit grubby and very dated. Must have been a flash hotel in the 70s! Good value for money though.

"ok hotel. excellent restaurant. first room i was put in was tiny even though i had booked a delux room. i enquired if room was a delux and i was told it was. later i looked for an upgrade and they tried to charge me. i took the upgrade and asked what class the new room was, i was told delux. i complained that i should not have to pay extra as i already had paid for a delux. turned out they put me in a standard room to begin with. the hotel never apologised or rectified the situation so i just took the upgrade and then refused to pay for it....i.e. i rectified it!" - Anonymous
"This was my second time staying at this hotel and I still think it represents good value for money. The first room we got was dark and had no views but we paid for an upgrade to get something better. WE ended up on the 12th floor with good views and lots of space. Special mention for manager Bulelani who is exceptionally friendly and definitely adds to overall service delivery of the Ritz." - Jackie Prendergast
