Getting there:From Sydney take the F3 Freeway north past Newcastle to its end. At the roundabout turn right for the Pacific Hway and TAREE. Follow the TAREE signs over the Hexham Bridge and onto the Pacific highway. 20 kms past Raymond Terrace turn left onto the Bucketts way [to STROUD and GLOUCESTER]. Follow this road to Stroud and continue 20 kms past Stroud. At this point you will see a turn left to RIVERWOOD DOWNS. Turn here and follow the signs 8 kms to the Property.

A security deposit of $150 is required on check-in by credit card or cash to guarantee payment of any incidental charges.
Car parking:Free onsite parking is available.
Child Policy:Children aged 0 to 3 years old are an additional $21 per child per night, children aged 4 to 12 years are an additional $37 per child per night and children 13 years and over are an additional $52 per child per night. These rates are using existing bedding only and include a full hot country breakfast.
We really enjoyed our visit to Riverwood Downs the location is beautiful. Riding motorbikes in on the dirt road wasn't great but once we got there it was worth the trip. We stayed in a resort room which was fairly small but clean and pleasant. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We will stay again but may try a cabin next time.
The dirt track was tough on the tyres, everything else was super. Great for overseas tourists looking to see some of our wildlife.

Wow - what a beautiful place! The staff were so friendly and the Spa Room was a perfect surprise for my wife. Thank you to the chef for our delicious meals (especially the desserts)! We will definitely be back this summer - to relax by the river.
I dont think we ever had a hot meal alway warm few mix ups a litle overpriced. Great for kids and dogs not to much to do though.Overall plesant place to stay but not for to long for the people who do like to get out a bit more.Tricky to find.
Riverwood Downs was a great place to stay. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to stay somewhere that caters for all. You can enjoy a romantic stay or even bring the family including the dogs. I will definitely return for a future stay.
The site was beautiful and very peaceful and we enjoyed our stay. However the site was more remote than we thought - also it it still in the 'Hunter Valley'?
Lovely place, and we had a great time, but would have liked to know that it is 8km on a dirt road off the main road before I booked. Also there was a large group there of 160 people including a lot of children, so it was not 100% as romantic as it could have been
Wonderful place to stay with kids. There is plenty to do at the lodge. Walking trails, library with books (great idea), videos, bunk beds for the kids (fantastic idea). It's a dog friendly lodge which is great. Overall a wonderful way to spend a holiday!
A most relaxing and enjoyable weekend, I would recommend it to anyone who wants time out from the rat race.
