Rock Glen is a charming country hotel, built in 1815, nestling between Connemara’s Twelve Pin mountains and Ardbear Bay. The landscapes and Atlantic seascapes are magnificent. Owners John and Evangeline Roche have lovingly preserved and expanded the property, creating a delightful hotel in the country house tradition. All bedrooms have been beautifully decorated and include the full range of modern facilities for convenience and comfort. The restaurant, well known for it’s excellent cuisine has earned three AA rosettes specialising in modern Irish cooking with a French/Asian influence. Leisure activities include an all weather tennis court, croquet lawn, putting green and snooker room. Close by is the championship Connemara 18 hole golf links, not to be missed! Horse riding, pony trekking and fishing can be arranged locally. There are miles of sandy beaches for safe swimming and boat trips to the Aran Islands and Inishbofin leave every day. | Getting there: |
From Watermans Lodge go back into Limerick City and then take the N18 to Ennis, Gort and Galway City. From Galway City take the ring road around the city and onto the N59 to Oughterard, Maam Cross and Clifden. Once in Clifden go around the one way system and take the road to Ballyconneely. Approx 1 mile along this road there is a right turn signposted for the Rock Glen Manor. The hotel is at the top of this road. |
