Roessli Hotel Lucerne

Excellent family rum hotel. superb location near mt pilatus and 20 min from lucerne city. excellent view from room. very friendly and helpful staff....managed to get nice indian curry as well :-) :-)

Hotel was very clean, and staff friendly. You can avail of internet access (on their laptop!) in the bar for about 10 CHF an hour (June 2008). They also have Wi-fi. They have a washing machine & dryer available for use also (5 CHF for washing machine, 1 CHF for dryer) which for a backpacker when it was lashing rain for 3 days solid was a godsend! Breakfast was fine, cereal, breads, fruit, juices, yogurts & tea/coffee. Location was stunning, but a bit out of the way. Trains from Lucern to Alpnachstad run every half hour or every hour depending on the time. From the station about 5 - 10 minute walk. Very close to the cable car (cant remember the name..!), about 3 mins walking. Didn't eat in restaurant as I felt the prices were a little high (eg approx €13 for chicken curry), but while I was there it seemed to do a good trade.Would recommend, but felt a little pricey.

Although outside Lucerne, but easy commute by train. Lovely views from the balcony,mountains and clouds.

From the latenight arrival welcome to the wonderfully layed out breakfast this hotel was fantastic. Food, location in a picture perfect Swiss village and helpful hosts all made this a very enjoyable stay. The train station is less than a block away and even the shop keeper didn't mind helping me to obtain a train ticket. As a lone traveller I felt welcomed in the safe , clean, authentic Swiss decor hotel and appreciated the very reasonable cost.

I did not like the fact that the hotel charges 3% extra if you use a credit card. I was not told this in advance. Had I known, I would have brought more cash.

Very small, quaint hotel with friendly enough staff. Perfect location if you want to spend you day on Mount Pilatus as the hotel was a short walk to the cogwheel station and to the Alpnactstad train station. Breakfast was simple (bread, cheese, yogurt). We did not eat dinner in the hotel, but the food smelled good. Overall, great location, decent hotel (but just know it is NOT a Ritz Carlton, maybe a Holiday Inn equivalent at best).

location of hotel excellent, 5 mins from station, not far from lucerne by car, 20 mins. staff very helpfull and friendly and would be a deciding factor if i were to return to this area

Very Beautiful place to stay, right on the mountain side and near the lake. Very friendly family run hotel. Would go back.

Not quite in the location expected - but worth every penny, the staff and location were outstanding. 5 mins from the train station.

accomodation very good, it is quite a distance from main town if you are dependant on public transport, although the train is very close but limited timetable.

Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food and delicious home made jam for breakfast! Good location and our room was clean and comfortable.
