It was formerly known as Koòský trh (Horse Market), for its periodic accommodation of horse markets and it was renamed Václavské námìstí (Wenceslas square) in 1848 on the proposal of Karel Havlíèek Borovský. Thanks to its location between the Old and New Town and the total area of 45 000 m2 it is a place of social and commercial life, but also a place of many significant political events which have formed the Czech history. This hotel is very conveniently located, right in the center of the tourist district, and travel to most places in the city is a breeze. Also, the hotel staff are really helpful, and the maids clean your room daily. There's free internet in the room, and complimentary breakfast. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay, near all the action in Prague, this is it.
Rooms to front have a magnificent view on Wenceslas Square, however are not good for a good nights sleep as rooms have no airco and sleeping with open window is impossible. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel seems to be popular mainly with Russian Tourists.
Great location and good service!
This was a lovely hotel, close to everything and within walking distance of the station at which we arrived and only a short subway ride to the station we left from. Our room was huge and we had free internet connection in our own room.
