The hotel is old (hence Royal), but near the pier so it was pretty handy getting about the Laines and the palace. There was mould in the bathroom though. Otherwise a pretty nice place, just opposite the gay clubs as well.
Excellent location, although no parking facilities. Very friendly staff, lovely food.
Excellent location, but a shadow of its obvious former glory. Busy, under-staffed reception area. No clear communication about breakfast or checking out times. No one answered when telephoning the reception desk from the room. The hotel just needs a bit of modernisation, or just more care and attention. The room was basic and 'tired'. I would consider staying there again, but only based on the cheap rate and not because of the facilities or service.
got nice room at an excellent price for the night through hotel club.
Everything is nice.
Confortable and very well located. We had a room to the sea front and it was great. But I am not so sure about other rooms. Breakfast is basic and not very good, wifi works not very well, one day the room was not done, but people is friendly and location is fantastic for everything in Brighton. Price was good from HotelClub, I think it was not so good booking directly.
It was a lovely looking hotel. The only thing was our room was in the basement and it had no window!!!!
The Royal Albion Hotel Brighton is a grand old lady hotel right on the seafront directly opposite the pier in Brighton. The staff are friendly yet professional and the room I had was brilliant. Breakfast was lovely and food I had from the bar, in the lounge area was acceptable and reasonably priced. There is free WiFi in the lounge area which works well. ** Also: this hotel has smoking rooms, great! Overall a great place for the money.
Excellent value for money, need ear plugs if you require any sleep. Staff most helpfull. Couldnt be better positioned for all aspects of tourism. Thanx for a great stay.
Our room (337) had a frosted window and was dark and dingy, but it was nice and big. The bed was horrible: we felt the springs underneath us. But the room was also very quiet, which we really appreciated. Another problem: there is one tiny elevator for the entire hotel. There were times where we had to wait 10-15 minutes to get on the elevator. Also, breakfast on the weekend is badly organized. People often have to wait 30 minutes to eat if you come between 9am and 10am. And there is no parking at the hotel. But the price is right and the location can't be beat.
The hotel is in an ideal location for the peer and the local pubs and clubs. My only criticism of the hotel was that the breakfast was on a buffet basis but there were massive queues for food because everything was on the same plinth. The hotel need to split the cerelas and fruitjuices from the cooked breakfast because everyone was queing irrespecyive of whether thy were at the satr middle or end of their breakfast. It was very poor and they need to sort this out, there is plenty of room in the two dining areas to address this.
Excellent location, Excellent breakfast, exceptional service, good cleanliness just the left was bit dozzy, program does not work quite good... we had a very pleasent stay.
If you like faded glory rather than sterile uniformity then enjoy this hotel. The room was very large; the huge bath a rare luxury these days.
Looked better from the outside and the pics on the net - rooms are very dated and in need of refurbishment - bathroom and hallways smelt - elevator broken - no parking - good location.
Positives - A Gem. Very professional service by staff . Great value. Ideal location. Rooms Good experience all round. Negatives - The balcony bar seen on their site not in use. Local (Public) car park being refurbed so long walk to alternative.
The location was great, but the hotel was surrounded by scaffolding. Windows in room let in a draught as were quite old. Good value, its fine to stay in for a couple of nights , but the buzzing of the aircon (that couldn't be switched off) was very annoying. Also, thin walls and floors so not good if you're a light sleeper!
Could have done with a new bed, bedroom door lock was difficult to use, key didnt always open or lock the door, no extra security features on door in case door didnt lock. Location is great for shopping in Brighton, Car Parking you have to find on the street near by or pay £15 for 24 hours in near by car park. Buffet breakfast choice is good.
The hotel is quite tatty and the breakfast was pretty nasty - But it was relatively cheap and our room did have a jacuzzi bath which was an unexpected but nice suprise. Overall, i'd say its fine for a one night stay but I wouldn't want to stay any longer
This hotel could benefit from a dragging into the 21st Century. Wallpaper & carpets very dates & the whole place had a feel of a dingy 60s knock shop. That said, the location is amazing and if you just want to rest your head and ain't bothered about the surroundings, its ideal.
this hotel is like a step back in time, although the whole place could do with a thoroughly good spring clean. considering i only paid 68 pounds a night i was charmed by the place. the staff were very helpful, courteous and there was even security on the door in the evening. the double jacuzzi bath was fab. our party had a wonderful time.
