"I was very disappointed with this hotel.
The worst thing was the noise from about 11pm to 3am from people leaving the nearby clubs and pubs.
The room was clean, but the carpet was worn in 2 places, the bedcover on the double bed and cigarette burns in it and the curtains had marks on them. Although there were 2 of us in the room there was 1 chair which was more an office type chair than an easy chair. Breakfast was disappointing as they did not serve porridge in an hotel in Scotland. Porridge is eaten universally now.
The hotel is down as being refurbished in 2002 and I expected a little more for the money.
The staff were pleasant. " - Sheila Brown
"Old style Hotel - Rooms could do with an update - A bit expensive for the standard of room. However, restaurant very good & staff friendly. " - Anonymous
"Friendly but in need of refurbishment - hole in my ceiling and bathroom floor not very hygenic although new bathroom suite" - Anonymous
"The hotel restaurant served excellent food at a reasonable price and I will definitely be dining there again. However the hotel was very old and worn out. The floors were terribly uneven and whenever anyone walked by our room the hallway creaked loudly. Overall I was really disappointed with the room. The breakfast was also not what you would typically find when it's advertised as a full Scottish breakfast. The dining room was definitely not on par with the restaurant downstairs. I would not stay at this hotel again." - Amy Rosteet
