Rydges Hotel Christchurch

Great service, great location, enjoyed the stay!

The concierge and front desk staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcomming. Our room looked over the park and the location was fantastic for sight seeing and proximity to great restaurants and bars.

Rydges is in a great location and is a hotel you can depend upon for an excellent stay in christchurch

a bit dated we thought, breakfast was disapointing the food was cold and ran out of alot of things,we felt we had to keep asking for things, i think there are better hotels for the same price

My husband and I stayed on the night of the 3rd and 5th Sept. Thankyou for enabling us to survive the earthquake although the door to the bathroom was very heavy so if we had made it to the door jamb it would have been hard to keep the door open in an earthquake. As we were stuck on Sunday night with the curfew we had to watch a poor choice of movies and the quality of the viewing screen itself was very bad

We were there during the earthquake and were most impressed with the response from the hotel staff.

The bathroom sink was blocked which was a nuisance when brushing teeth. The room has blackout linings on the curtains for a nice dark room to sleep in. I requested a quiet room away from the lifts and was accommodated.

Great service and room and a great price as a last minute special. Would stay again.

PROS: Great place to stay when flying into Christchurch. Great location and very nice room. Good price too! CONS: Not a nice view: our window looked out to a parking garage. The restaurant's food was not good at all. Stay away from the special that never seems to change: the ribeye.

The staff were very helpful. We have stayed in many hotels in Christchurch and keep coming back to Rydges. They are simply better than the rest.

We were extremely impressed with the friendly helpful service we received. The staff were fantastic and their genuine smiles each day were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. We may receuve a thank you card from the hotel yet as we live out in the country and the mail takes longer to reach us.
