Rydges Hotel Melbourne

Had a great stay at the Rydges. Stayed on the 18th floor, room was clean and a good size. Bathroom was a good size with a shower/bath combo. Good location and 1 minute walk to the free city circle tram to get around Melbourne and to the main attractions. I would give the hotel an overall 4 star rating. Staff were helpful in giving directions and recommendations

This hotel was perfect as just a place to sleep. We came down for a concert & was the perfect location to get to the stadiums, casino, shopping & museum. Located diagonally from the theatre & China town this was by far the best spot in terms of location. The hotel itself was not average but also nothing special, but the staff were great. Only criticism would be the restaurant..needs some work but it certainly didn't spoil our great weekend away!

although an old building the interior is new and fresh, the lobby is clean well presented with small cosy lounge area which is very quiet. the restaurant is well set out and tidy with ample room, while the breakfast has a good selection. the room well made and modern, the king size bed makes you feel lost in it with ample of room and has a good view which many hotels dont.

Great location to the mall and close to fantastic restaurants! Room was very nice and the bed was omg fantastic, best bed in a hotel. Will stay there again if the price is good for sure!!

Location was very central to everything in the city. Staff throughout the hotel were polite and very helpful. My room was very clean , the room cleaning staff on the 15th floor were very polite and very competent. An overall happy stay. But l will put this in .....the Breakfast price is abit high it should be apart of the room.

Rydges hotel was very close to our venue. We could walk which was great. I would of liked the hotel to have a little compilmentry wine, as it was our 40th wedding anniversary. But it was still good. Wife wants to know if you have any beds for sale.They were great to sleep in.

We stayed in a deluxe queen room for two nights. The room was very squatty and a little dated. The bathroom was even smaller, you had to get undressed outside the bathroom, to avoid hitting the walls. Noise seemed to travel very easily , from the street and other rooms. However on the upside the cooked breakfast we had was superb and the staff seemed very efficient and courteous.

If you are looking for a great location in the city, this is the place. We got a special and paid $130 for a deluxe room. Seeing what i got i would have been disappointed if i had paid anymore than that. the hotel needs a bit of an upgrade. The paint had chipped off in the room, bathroom was looking a bit dated and it wasn't five star clean. the bed sheets were not put on properly, so had to remake the bed before we got in it. I would stay here again if it was just to sleep. however the biggest disappointment was the staff vaccuming other rooms and slamming doors throughout the floor starting at 7am. the floor was really quiet and would have been nice to have had a sleep in. when we made a complaint leaving the hotel, they didn't really seem to care, they would just let management know. Overall, not too bad. would stay again for location.

Rydges location was the best close to everything, great room, friendly staff and great bar downstairs....willl definitely be back!

The room we stayed was pretty small and the toilet was even smaller. Room and toilet was clean and modern. Car parking was expensive as we had to pay $15 per exist. Overall it as good as the Deluxe room costed $130

great spot a little old but good location for theatres

Excellent stay in a first class hotel. Room was ready, even though we arrived earlier than 2pm. Location was very convenient as we had tickets to Dr. Shivago. Only had to cross the road to the show. Had an enjoyable meal in Chinatown after the show. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant next morning topped off a lovely city experience. We will be back.

The first room we were given was close to a lift: lots of creaks and groans from lift and very noisy, however staff were very obliging and gave us a room further back. Would recommend

We were very happy with most aspects of the hotel except for the following. * We arrived and found the adjacient car park which the hotel uses was full and we had to use one some distance away which meant we had to lug our luggage back to our car on departure. * We arrived later than our expected time but still had to wait 1 hour for our room to be ready.
