Staff were very helpful, efficient & friendly. Room wasn't spectacular but well furnished, clean and comfortable. Good location for Government Offices and access to the lake. Also there are several good cafes within a few hundred metres.
Everything is good and the room is newly renivated. Howver, there was still new paint smell which is ok.

Extensive building works going on. Was not told until we arrived. Although the works did not 'officially' start until 09.00, from about 07.30 there wasa lot of building noise. From 09.00 onwards you could not have a conversation in the room because of the building noise from the floors above. Really, they should be honest about this when booking!
The hotel was clean and neat..located in very convinience location.. I would recommend people want to spend time in Canberra.
The cleaning staff were very happy cordial people. Glad to hear that they are going to upgrade the rooms as they looked a little tired. Otherwise great location, and lovely dining area.
Our stay at the Hotel was a very enjoyable experience the staff were very helpful the room was very comfortable with excellent views, the location was very central and easy to access all of the attractions around Canberra. In all I would recommend the Rydges Lakeside to anyone traveling to Canberra. Thank you
Quite convenient and with good views but lacks a decent gym and the food, particularly in the room, was quite expensive and didn't offer much choice.
Bathrooms are a little dated now (I don't like having to stand in a bath to take a shower under an old shower head), but overall still a nice hotel
Everything was great except the bathroom was very smelly with that moldy shower curtain smell. Still, this is probably one of the better hotels in Canberra that I've stayed in.
Stayed there for a short weekend away .... overall a good experience.
Ok but starting to look a bit tied
Room upgrade on check-in was much appreciated, thank you. Lobby restaurant and bar much improved by recent renovations. All guest rooms, including suites, are very faded in terms of decor and poor in terms of maintenance. Taps are missing covers, sinks don't drain well, furniture is wobbly, carpets loose and ceiling had cracked and peeling paint. Renovations are now desperately needed!
Hard to find off the many round abouts in Canberra but otherwise really good place to stay.
Rydges is a lovely walk to the lake and the hill, but a longer walk (15-20 minutes) into Civic or most of the other places in Canberra's central city area. The room was clean, and smelled pleasant, and the bed very comfortable, however the static fittings were tired and ready to be replaced. Had to ask for a room-service price list, but everything else seemed well organised. Would happily stay again.
Check out was a little bit lengthy. Maybe if possible to have card drop off exit box if you haven't consumed anything from the mini bar or room service.
If you get a lakeview room and can get high enough there is a great view of the hills in the distance and the lake and parliament house etc which is wirthwhile. Facilitaies and rooms are clean albeit a little old and basic - and the exercise room had only 2 machines and no weights - not really adequate for a 4 star rating.
Everything good. Second time I have stayed here. Convenient, clean and comfortable with good views of Canberra. Will stay again.
For the price that they charged I would expect a hotel to have a business centre. I thought that the room that I had looked a little tired and I wonder if I received this room based on booking it through [website].
We stay here regularly and the ongoing renovations are pleasing. We were given a large room on the 14th floor with a lake view - first time ever- which has not yet been fully renovated. There were lolly wrappers under the bed and behind the curtains but the space, comfort of the single beds (would have preferred a bigger bed) and the afternoon sun streaming in on a cold windy afternoon more than made up for the little problems. We will continue to stay here for the overall convenience.
We had several plumbing problems, (which they attended to promptly) And a cockroach (3rd floor)
