Getting there:When leaving Tullamarine Airport take the City Link exit at Flemington Road. Rydges North Melbourne is located on the corner of Flemington Road & Harker Street (directly opposite the Royal Children's Hospital). The hotel is approximately 20 minutes drive from the airport.

The staff were very obliging and pleasant . The meals were excellent. The room spacious and well equipped withe the exception of the airconditioner which only blew cold air resulting in me catching bronchitis on our last day which made it difficult to drive home. Hope you can fix this on our next visit
The hotel itself was in a good location and easy access to wherever you wanted to go in the CBD. The room was just perfect but unfortunatel. The shower was not constantly hot and I had to adjust it many times. I understand it's currently installing new carpet but the old carpet detracted from the hotel somewhat. Overall, once everything has been completed the hotel is excellent for location and price.

Value for money, Rydges in North Melbourne was good. Location was very handy and the staff were helpfull and friendly.
Not really comparable to similar type of hotels I stayed in terms of rate. Expensive. Carpet needs upgrading/room locker be provided.Room does not necessarily give a true account of what it is displayed as.I had to request to physically see if I was put in a room for which I had paid for. Generally friendly staff.Charged for a call that I never made!!It should have been resolved;hopefully.
The staff on the desk seemed disinterested, and in one case incompetent I am not given to criticism as I am a frequent traveler take the good with the bad., I was also unimpressed that the hotel charges a surcharge for using all credit cards..most annoying the first time this has happened to me apart from AMEX.. overall an ordinary stay

On the plus side: The best hotel within its price range. The bed was comfortable. The sheets and the towels were immaculately clean - just what we required. The staff were friendly. Parking is secure. Can't complain about the beautiful buffet breakfast. On the minus side: The lift is quite small similar to the lifts in Europe. The carpets throughout the hotel looked like water damaged from a flood. It is quite bad and needs refurbishing. I wouldn't walk on it barefooted in the fear that I might develop a fungi infection. Looks like something is growing in it! The location is not in the city centre (which worked well for us). Tram is just across the street. Good walking distance to hospital, shopping, parks. When booking, check if breakfast and parking are included in the rate to help you compare prices.
The good thing was the room size and restaurant, there is not food available around the hotel,but doesn't matter because the food at the hotel was good. Internet and phone calls pricey.
Very good value for money $130 with hot breaky!! VERY clean and nice rooms. I will defiantly return if I go out in North Melbourne again.

Reception was good but the directions from the car park to the room could have been clearer. We used all the stairs to the second floor as there was not an illuminated sign for the lift. We found the lift from the plan on the door. The location was fine for our purpose and we would stay again. Mervynne Dunstan

Lovely place to stay. Conviently located, but only minutes to the city. The service was good, breakfast was great!
I thought the inside of the premises needed a "spruce up". The price I paid, however, was very reasonable for what I got and the location good for access to airport, city centre and Lygon Street restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay over 3 nights. The best part was the breakfast buffet. The room however was a bit dated and the hallway carpet was needing replacement. The location is a bit far from the city but tram is handy nearby.The staff were friendly. Free newspaper available daily.
It is a very pleasant place to stay and the restaurant, though small, is excellent.
