Rydges On Swanston Melbourne Hotel

Located 3 tram stop away from Melbourne central, clean and comfortable room and customer service is excellent The only thing that bothered me is the lift speed, which took 6 seconds to go from floor to floor.. All and all satisfied with the hotel and certainly happy to stay there for next visit :)

This hotel is very well located right by the tram line. We stayed in a newly refurbished room which was a decent size but the lighting in the room was very poor and the bathroom shower recess had no soap dish which meant you had to put the soap on the floor yuk! Apart from these facts we had a comfortable 2 night stay and would stay again if the price was right at the time of booking.

Best thing about this hotel is its location and the ability to open windows (important for me), but facilities are average at best: room was dark and gloomy - carpet, furniture, wall; light bulbs blew; TV was untuned; no bedside light, so couldn't read in bed; bathroom was shabby, grimy and chipped and toilet didn't flush properly. My in room dinner lasagne was so burnt on the bottom it was inedible. Staff were friendly and helpful but even they couldn't make a silk purse out of these sows ears.

Great! Will definately stay here again. Only issue was with the car parking. Its almost impossible to park your car in such small spaces. It took many many attempts to get in and out! Overall it was a pleasant stay!

Location was prime reason for selecting this hotel and it met my needs exactly. I booked a two day special which made it affordable for me as well.

Staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly.

Excellent facilities at the right price (if you book early). Great location - nice and central, with public transport right outside the door, but sufficiently distant from the CBD to ensure quietness.

rooms clean & tidy - facilities were good however due to a private function on the sat night the pool area was not completely clean with some cigarette butts left in the pool and over the decking - Overall a pleasant stay where the serviuce was good

It was a great stay at the hotel. We stayed at level 2 and the view was pretty nice too :) The price is reasonable given that we booked at the very last minute on New Year's Eve. The customer service was excellent although just a bit of a comment regarding the swimming pool - the water wasn't that clean. Overall I'm happy with our stay at Rydges Swanston. Thank you!

The room smelt of smoke on entering but it was not overpowering and you quickly came not to notice. Other than this the room was clean and well apointed. The tiles in the shower were a little mouldy and could have done with a good scurb. The staff were wonderful, very friendly, and helpful. The location was perfect as we did not have car, and the hotel was an easy stroll to Lygon St and the city shopping.

Our room was very large and this made it nice. The bathroom was not very nice - though quite serviceable. I would question the 4 star rating on this point. The restaurant was nice, and you can order food from the bar very reasonably. Walking distance to Lygon street was great. Cafe Cavalino was a really nice Italian dinner which I would head to again - and again.

Rooms are a little dated, but overall good value

Lift was out of order the morning we were leaving and the buffett breakfast was pretty crappy compared with other hotels.

Bed & Bedding was lovely and comfortable. Shower area needs grouting removed and replaced - let the price down. Lift was out or order on departure morning otherwise nice Hotel. Access to Trams out front a bonus.

The buffet breakfast was overpriced, with few choices available and not kept fresh.

Upon checking in, the professionalism and friendliness of staff set the tone for the duration of our stay. One of the best buffet breakfasts ever experienced, and they have a great selection of deals throughout the week in their restaurant. A most enjoyable stay, will defiantly use again.

Little hot water in the morning for shower.

Very good access to public transport. Excellent beds. Average restraunt. Bathroom worked very well. Door locks - electronic very reliable and operated first time. Air Conditioning very effective. Front desk Staff very helpful.
