Getting there:We are located 7 km South East of the Townsville Airport. A short drive of about ten minutes, or approximately $15 by taxi. 750 metres from the coach transit centre - a 15 minute walk or approximately $6 by taxi. Townsville Train Station approximately 1.5 km from the hotel - Taxi approx $8 or a five minute drive. Located on the Southside of the CBD in Palmer Street via the Denham Street Bridge.
Check-in Procedure:The hotel front desk is open 24 hours, seven days a week for your convenience. A credit card imprint will be required on check in to cover incidentals.
Car parking:There is a circular set-down driveway at the Hotel entrance. Off street, onsite and undercover lock up (11pm-7am) parking is provided free of charge.
Child Policy:children upto the age of 12 stay free in existing bedding
Stayed 3 days, and provided a good base to explore Townsville. Had sole use of the pool and spa. Parking became difficult on Saturday night, otherwise easy free parking.
Staff were very friendly. Very handy location to sights and good place to eat and drink. Would stay again.

My stay at Rydges Southbank Townsville was almost perfect. The room was comfortable and clean, the service was very friendly and professional. The restaurant too, was staffed by courteous and professional wait staff and very an excellent chef. The Garlic Prawns were the tastiest I have eaten. The hotel is central to town, cafes, museums. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Townsville.

Only spent one night here, but found it very enjoyable. Good location, and close plenty of restaurants, and only a short walk to the city centre.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was beautifully set up and the restaurant was easily accessible and menu was wonderful.
Good location but the rooms do need an update
Front desk was quite friendly. The air con in the room was freezing-if you turned it off the walls were wet with condensation. Location is not bad as there are cafes and restaurants all down the street. I didn't go to the restaurant as the prices were very high. Room was OK and clean but could have done with more channels even PPV. Area has a New Orleans look about it.
I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this room! Entrance light didn't work, no teaspoons, badly chipped soap dish in shower. Small, old fashioned TV. Some info about places to eat and things to do would have been good, too. The place seemed rather run down. The bed was very comfortable, however, and the receptionist was helpful.
The building itself was old, but a room we stayed was very well maintained and clean.
Very good location and some very nice restaurants located close by. As with most hotels the breakfast is over priced but just a short walk and you are able to a very good breakfast for a better price.

Very well appointed hotel with great views of the Marina. Beds very comfortable and Southside grill has nice food. Pool was nice to swim in but needs updating. Service is very friendly especially free wake up calls. Will stay there again
Good hotel for the price we paid. Walking distance to the centre of town and plenty of restaurants on either side of the street, view from 1st floor of marina and other hotels, quiet at night so you can sleep well. Breakfast was well presented and enjoyable. Would consider staying there again if price is competitive.
