Saint James Hotel Residence Geneva

50 meters fron Jet-de-Eau (Fountain in Geneva lake) hotel is located in center of city. With kitchenette fully equipped, provision of ironing within the apartment and laundry with drier accesible round the clock (At no extra cost) - all basic amneties for a compfortable stay longer than week are well maintained. PERFECT value for money. Reception closing at 11 pm and room cleaning not regular daily it might not suit those looking for stat hotels and regular services for a day or two.

Overall the room and services were adequate. The superior studio was spacious and comfortable. The furnishings could do with being brought up to date and during our 4 night stay, our room was only serviced once. Beware when booking online that breakfast is not included in the price. If you want to enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel, you will be charged 15 francs per person. The breakfast was good but overpriced. There are plenty of nice cafe's and resaurants near by. I travelled with my mother and the location of the hotel is great, very close to the main shopping areas. Since we were out of the hotel most of the day, the hotel suited our needs and we were reasonably comfortable but i wouldn't choose this if you were planning a romantic getaway!

Thank to Mr. Ben and the staff. We were at this hotel several times, and it good by the location, Pleasant of the staff. The kitchen is very comfortable and well equipped, and if anything was missing, they are always happy to assist you and complete. We are going to come again and again. Who come from a hot and wet Country, you should now that at summer it is hot and dry, so you dont need to bring to much cloth, or hot close. the temp' at geneve mostly better than shows at the wether site or press. Dont forget to take the free card Public transportation at the all CANTON. Enjoy your stay, the hotel is close to everywhere ...

I found everyone very helpful at reception. We booked for twin share as I travelled with my sister. We were given an appartment with a double bedroom plus a comfortable pull down bed in the sitting/kitchen area. This suited us well as we could sleep alone. The appartment was well serviced and adequate for the price paid.

Great hotel for such a good price.

The hotel is extremely old and would need a thorough cleaning. Everything is so dirty... I don't talk about bed linen or towels but about doors, floor, ceiling, etc. It's definitely not a 3 star hotel, at least not now.

This is a very friendly and convenient hotel within 2 minutes of the lake! I would certainly recommend it but pls be careful out walking at the bridge at night if anyone asks you 'the time' as we were robbed! They pretend to be playing football with you as they pick your pockets! This has nothing to do with the location of the hotel - just a warning to anyone walking in Geneva at night near the bridge. These are illegal immigrants and the police are trying their best to stop this. Geneva is amazing!

I stayed in two different rooms on different visits. The one near the ground floor was quite noisy from the consant stream of traffic outside, but the one further up was much quieter. Great to have a kitchen, and great location, but needs some maintenance: some things didn't work (eg bathroom sink leaked) and it smelled a bit of tobacco smoke. Really nice, friendly staff.

Strong points: Location , very good value for money. Nice staff in reception. Free internet in lobby. Weak points: Average breakfast, very hard beds. Noise from street outside, ask for quiet room.

Staff is helpful. Location is central. When booking, ask for a room in the back of the hotel if you don't want your room to face a main thoroughfare.

It's very spacious with bedroom,kitchin,spare room but it's not a hotel like a apartment. Reception is closed at 5pm and no survice is available after that. And WiFi service is available(charged) but it's need internet explorer.(I use Lunux machine and could not use it.)

Great location...very good price comparing to other places. Nice staff. Highly recommended for those who do not want to spend their money on accommodation. I enjoyed my stay there....will come back again.

Essentially self-service hotel - no breakfasts included, no restaurant; but I liked it. Very spacey for its pricing. Clean and convenient rooms with kitchen facilities, cups, glasses, etc.. If you don't mind making coffee on mornings for yourself, then this is a far better choice than 12 square meters you could get in other hotels for that money. The only small disadvantage - wireless connection; works ok but is rather pricey - 20 sfr for 24 hours. Would recommend for singles or small families that don't mind looking after themselves a bit.
