San Gallo Palace Florence

"i stayed at this hotel after checking it with hotelclub and tripadvisor. this is a great hotel- comfortable, modern, clean,internet access, great breakfast, and helpful staff. The location is a little further out from the town center han some other hotels, but an easy walk away for those who aren't disabled or elderly (i'm not big on walking but the city is fairly smaill and easy to walk). a true 4 star. "Excellent hotel with pleasant staff. Convenient parking a short walk away with allocated parking space was well worth the extra charge if travelling with a car. Not the best part of town but all major sites are walkable to if you are reasonably fit, and we neer felt unsafe on the walks regardless of time of day or night. Meal facilities at the hotel are very limited, but Florence is full of excellent restaurants if you choose carefully." - Victor Levenson

"This hotel cannot be faulted for cleanliness and helpfulness of staff. We asked several times for advice regarding buses, trains restaurants and were always provided with genuine and helpful advice. Drinks, coffees etc were all first class and reasonably priced. Probably the best hotel we have stayed in in 10 years of frequent travel. If there is a drawback it is that the hotel is situated a 15 minutes walk from the centre of Florence, however, a frequent bus service is available about 200m from the hotel which we used when we couldn't be bothered to walk." - Ian Hodkinson

"We stayed one night in a twin room at this hotel, whose location is somewhat away from the major tourist sites and the railway station. The size of the room and bathroom are large. The quality and variety of the breakfast was disappointing, and three different types of breads we selected were all stale. The staff were helpful and polite." - Anonymous
