The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Madrid. Hotel is good and people in reception are very nice and helpful. We would again stay at this hotel but if hotel management takes into consideration the only disadvantage of this hotel-terrible inflexible bed. Beds are really unconfortable, particularly the mattress which is like a wood. This is the real disadvantage to spend night but with the rest we are very much satisfied.
central and clean hostal with poor facilities. you get what you pay for.
Great location, very clean, friendly staff.
Rooms are very small. The security isn't good as you have to hand your key (no card) in everytime you leave the building. No cable TV all Spanish channels. Towels very old. Breakfast wasn't included and what I paid for was awful and overpriced. Service was friendly and helpful and hotel in good location. However, they need to spend money on upgrading facilities.
Location of the hotel is perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. A bed in a DBL room was really small, even for two people in love.
The best place to be if you want to se Madrid at close range.
Good location but the price is a little bit high for this quality.
When I checked in early morning. The receptionist said that the room is not available yet, so I left the luggish in the hall and came back again in the afternoon. However, another receptionist said that I am not in the record. Fortunately, she found out my name eventually. The room and service is good for budget travellers.
The hotel is simple but very nice and well-located and has an extremely friendly and helpful staff who speak many languages. The only thing that would make it better would be better Internet connection; currently, there is a PC in the lobby, but no Internet connectivity in the rooms. A pay-as-you-go wireless service for guests would be a wonderful addition and would put this hotel at the top of my list.
The walls are not very thick, so you can hear the arrival and departure of other guests, but otherwise, the location is extremely central at a very reasonable price.
The hotel is very nicely located in the central area. It could be very quiet, if it were not for the extremely noisy air-conditioning. Still it would be a good choice for basic accomodation, if the price was more adequate.
The hotel is just off the main shopping street in Madrid. it is quiet and perfectly situated for sightseeing. The staff are friendly and the rooms clean and well equiped. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Madrid for a short stay.
Visitors might want to request a room away from the street. I had one night in a street-side room, and there was some late-night noise. On a subsequent visit, I had an 'inside' room, and no noise problem at night.
It's a very pleasant hotel, but at the streetside it's quite noisy at night.
We had 8 nights at the San Lorenzo, which were great. The room we got was a bit small, but it was a pretty good deal and we spent little time in it. The location is excellent: walking distance to all the major city attractions, and to several metro lines/stations. Do try the tapas bar on the corner of the building, as well as Angel's on nearby Chueca Plaza.
Extremely helpful staff, full of good information about the city and in English too!!
Very friendly service (in general) and excellent location. Certain rooms can be noisy but location is a winner.
San Lorenzo is very basic hostal but tidy and clean.
A nice hotel, just off the Gran Via main street close enough to everything. Clean, air conditioned a pleasent atmosphere, free internet, great staff lots of access to services and friendly free advise. Yes, I would stay in the same place again when in Madrid again.
Good hotel compared to the price - location is optimal for visiting the central part of Madrid.
