Sanctuary Lakes Beach Resort Hervey Bay

We only spend a couple of days at the resort but could've easily enjoyed a longer stay - it is a very quiet and peaceful environment. The accommodation itself is rather basic, but it was nevertheless enjoyable! The hotel was just taken over by a new manager and will probably improve with time!

The villas are set on the lake and have abundant wildlife - birds and turtles - which makes it a very pleasant place to stay. The villa we stayed in really needed a good clean and an airing and the sheets and towels smelt of cigarette.

The villas were clean and comfortable & recently renovated, but with one small oversight - the fan and fly screens were dirty. It was raining for part of the time we were there, but the lake was beautiful with all of the bird life (black swans, numerous ducks and water hens). It was lovely to sit on the deck and watch their antics. The beach was close by, as was the bistro for lunches and dinners, very reasonably priced and good food.

Very nice quiet place . Waterfront with view of lots of waterbirds.You can swim in the small pool or ocean only 15min walk.Good fishing from the jetty 1 km long. Waterfront kilometers long is good for walking and biking. Very cheap restaurant on the site or walk to the Esplanade to eat. Watch thousands of batts fly to Fraser Island on the sunset. Balinese atmosphere!! Very relaxing and easy going!! Recommend!!

I would recommend this hotel has good and excatly what we needed.

I was there about 3 years ago - Kondari Lakes Resort. The unit I stayed in then needed refurbisment, but the Lakes were a joy to sit and watch from the verandah. this time round, the unit I stayed in was quite clean, apart from the shower recess. It was quite disappointing to see what the algae has done to the beautiful lakes - even the bird life has diminished (I counted only 2 swans + a gossling). If you'd like me to send you some photos from 3 years ago, I'll be happy to - and also from my recent stay. I don't know what can be done about the algae. Well, all is not lost, I saw more turtles this time than before! Happy New Year to you all.

only one small complaint , the signage on the road side was a little lacking. overall this is a great peaceful place for a family to stay while looking around hervey bay. the best relaxing rest i have had in some time. cheers

the area is nice and the set up great , when you open the door it get messy , the casrpet is so dirty that it kill all the good side of the location, a fresh coat of paint will be a plus and please change the carpet!

Without the setting this establishment struggles to meet its writeup. Limited cooking facilities means just that... We were unable to use the BBQ facilities as they are totally unserviced

filthy pool which is too small needs cable or at least a DVD player pleasant rooms however

Lovely place to stay wish our trip had been longer close enough to everything yet you felt a lovely sense of peace sitting on the patio watching the ducks and swans, Yes would stay again.

needs some maintainance!! lake currently low, due to drought. Great variety of bird life, which can be noisy.

nice place to stay around the lake - at least 2 nights is better very quiet place.

We had a pleasant stay at Kondari, the facilities are pretty basic but good, clean and just about all you need. Service was very good, staff polite and helpful. Price was reasonable considering the time of year

Very helpful and accommodating of our requests. Villas were spacious and quiet.

Even though the Villas are only a short distance from the Esplanade, it was like being in an "Oasis" (must be the lakes). It was peaceful and good place to just rest. With a good book, it is a perfect place to unwind. It is close to everything: shops, beach, Urangan Park - and if you've no car, public transport is easy to get. I had a great time watching birds and also turtles - there was even an occasional eel swimming near the edge of the lake. I found the Manager of the Villas very friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that she was quite relaxed in her dealings with my booking.

Very nice, quiet accomodation. Lovely friendly service, nice meals at bistro.

Very comfortable cosy villas with lots of friendly birdlife just outside your door. Close to clubs and beach. We loved our short stay and hope to go back soon.

Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere- highly recommended!
