Good clean place to stay that is within walking distance to inner city and shopping centre. Had no trouble with check in. Very friendly and helpful.
Sandor's located in a quiet part of town. It is within walking distance to the main shopping belt in Launceston. Highly recommend if you would like to ditch/park the car and walk instead (as I would after a long drive).
Modern rooms with en-suite, reverse cycle air-conditoning, private en-suite. Many with views over the beautiful City Park. Rooms are based on double occupancy.
Room has a double bed and single bed with private ensuite, air conditioning, reverse cycle air conditioning, coffee/tea making, electric blankets, room service meals.
good clean and top service
very nice to stay in but needs to have fan in shower
every thing we wanted
There was ample convenient parking, the room and bathroom were very acceptable, the restaurant surprisingly good with an excellent choice of food for dinner. Sadly some of the members of the two coach tours also resident that night were extremely noisy in the rooms around me. However, overall I felt Sandors was excellent value for money.
I enjoyed my stay at the Sandor. The meals in the dining room were excellent and well priced and good value for money. Also very convenient with 6pm start. Great position for walking to the city cente, museums and Tamar River Cruises. Staff were Very sympathetic and helpful to my brother and wife when he became ill and spent a night in Launceston Hospital.
The stay was very pleasent. The only small criticism I have is the age of the kettle in the room. It was a plug in with the cord attached and one had to remove the cord from the power point to fill it up and the small space was quite dangerous when lifting a partly filled kettle which had hot water in it. A cordless type kettle would fix the problem. The kettle was also very discoloured.
This is an old building and seriously in need of a facelift if they're going to say it's 4 star. I felt it should've been a 3 star. Bed not comfortable and other guests every move heard. Front desk staff very helpful and welcoming
The best thing about this place was the front desk staff who were more than very helpful. Everything else was problematic. The window could not be locked closed, the toilet leaked, the walls were as thin as paper, there was no maintenance crew on duty, and the star rating should have been two at the most.
great location, but the bed dipped in the middle and when I turned the mattress to try and eliminate the problem, I found a used razor between the mattress and base. The pillows were so bad that we both woke up with very bad necks, that a chiropractor had to rectify, which added cost to our stay.
The man at the reception (I should have asked for his name!) is very, very friendly. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable. We hope you have really enjoyed the wasabi peas!!! The room was great; will definitely stay there again if we are back in Launceston!
There is a lack of parking for customers, book early to ensure you have a spot allocated. I only had access to parking for 1 night, spent the next day feeding parking meters plus risked the security of my hire vehicle as it was left out all night. Apart from that hiccup every thing else was fine. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is ideally located. I would stay there again.
I love staying at this hotel its position is ideal. Within walking distancce to the city and across the road from the park.
Very basic, u get what u pay 4! Also have stayed there 3 times, and each time, very noisy all nite!!!
Beautiful clean rooms, friendly staff, good location couldn't ask for more
Great location and very reasonably priced. Due to a large bus load of people dining room had a long wait for service, but we were redirected to another location nearby for dinner which was great. Would stay there again.
Great location and generally friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately we found our room very noisy and bright which kept us awake most of the night.
Hotel looks much better in advert than it actually is. Its old and shabby and in dire need of refurbishment. We didn't use the restaurant, which was also heavily advertised.
A clean and comfortable overnight stop with extra service. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff at reception and in dining room where a lovely evening meal was enjoyed. Parking spaces were hard to find later in the day, however, a kind staff exceeded expectations by making her own parking space available when I was unable to walk from an elevated location. In addition, when an item was left in the room in the hotel room, in the darkness of early morning, staff quickly called a taxi to rush it to the airport for me. There was a little disruption to sleep with several noisy arrivals/departures in nearby carpark throughout the night.
