This was our first time in Rome, and we were on a budget so couldn't stretch to an inner city hotel. However, on arrival I'm glad this was the case! Santa Costanza is in a really lovely little leafy neighbourhood, 3metro stops from Termini and then about a 10-15min walk from the metro stop. We found it great for nipping into town etc and as a platform for the rest of rome. To walk to the centre took us about 45mins. The surrounding area has wonderful patisseries, a supermarket, tabbacanists and if you look hard enough some lovely little restaurants. The hotel itself was clean and tidy. Our room was compact but perfectly pleasant, we literally used it to sleep and shower and the facilities were perfectly adeqauate. I was concerned about the breakfast having read past reviews, but was impressed at the choice, cereals, pastries, yoghurt and bread. However I would have liked some fresh fruit but thats just my personal preference. Far better than any greasy fry up in my opinion anyway!! One slight issue was the walls were very thin, we could literally hear the converstation in the room next door which was annoying on a night but as I sleep with ear plugs and was exhausted from days sightseeing this wasnt an issue for me. Overall I would recommend this hotel for travellers who want to get away from the grime of the city centre and experience the suburbs! Would definately return.
The hotel was better than we originally expected. Hotel was a bit far from the centre, but nearest bus stop was only 200m away and the bar next to the bus stop had some beverages and sandwitches that you could buy in the evening.
The guestrooms are elegant and quiet, with every modern comfort.
This hotel is not center of town but there is a bus stop right outside of the hotel and its very easy to figure out which bus to take. Its a bit dated but clean. And as most hotels in Rome, the rooms are tiny, but atleast our bathroom had a standup shower.
Good location, clean and good value for money.
The hotel is 900M from the Metro station so walking with suitcases is not recommended. Take bus number 310 from the Metro to the Hotel and back. We got a room with windows to the street and the noise level at 5AM was disturbing. Our matress was uneven and lower at the center.
Very clean and nice hotel with helpful personnel. I will come back. Only remark is that you can't press a shirt over the week end... no iron available at the hotel...
very good hotel and place, a bit away from the center
everything is good: staff are nice and helpful; the room is big and clean. But it is a little bit noisy in the evening.
like this hotel very clean and staff were good. easy to get to city. tv was all italian thought in this day and age ther would be a least 4 or 5 channels english speaking. breakfast just ok
This Hotel is on the outskirts of Rome; and accessible to the city heart by nearby tram. Nothing outstanding about the place. One poor aspect was that when I showed their own map to the receptionist to explain to me how to get to and from the CBD, the receptionist showed me the wrong map location for where we were; which entailed much extra walking at night.
The hotel was clean and good located 500m from the underground station of Bologna. It is also well connected with a good number of busses. There is a direct bus no.310 that stops at the front of the hotel and takes you to Termini station. There are also a lot of busses taking you to the city centre from via Nomentana. Breakfast was good with excellent croissants, fruits, coffee, tea and juices. Next time i would go to Rome I would try to book the same hotel again.
My girlfriend and me stayed in the hotel during the last week of August 2009, I believe that this was the best price-2-quality ratio when comes to hotel reservations. The hotel is a genuine 3* hotel, with nice stuff fluent in English. The hotel is well positioned, near bus stations, and about 5min walk to the nearest metro station (Bologna). The hotel is in a residential area of Rome surrounded by embassies.
Very small room but comfortable.
Single room was quite small. Location was a bit far from the center but very well covered with public transportation. Great closeness to busses, 10 minutes to metro. Breakfast was pretty good and service very friendly. Room was very clear. Room service was a bit late, around 2:00 PM and in a few cases I had to wait for the room to be cleaned when coming early. But in those cases they did it immediately. Overall was very happy with the choice.
Good accomodation- Cost 30 euros from the station in a taxi- Bus stop is right at the station-so find info where to get off then it was ok-
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Location, a short walk from the Metro in a quiet area. Some of the rooms have a balcony, which is nice for relaxing after a days sightseeing.
Good place to stay. Friendly staff.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Not located in the centre, but the underground is about 5-10 minutes walk. I would stay here again.
Hotel and hotel staff were great. They offered good practical advice that saved us money. Would definately stay there again and recommend to anyone.
Bust stop just round the corner (15min to city centre). Taxi to/from Termini train station is less than €10. Very clean; decent breakfast.
