"We spent 2 nights in October at the Sao Jose Hotel, Porto. The hotel is located very close to the main pedestrian shopping district and only a minute's walk to the Bolhao metro station, which is very convenient.
We considered the hotel to be excellent value for money, very clean, hot showers, adequate breakfast including fresh fruit, ham, cheese, breads etc. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the street - surprisingly no traffic noise thanks to the double double glazing. We also had an individual air conditioning unit in our room which was great as generally hotel rooms can be stifling.
The only downside: beds are extremely hard. I asked about moving to a different room but was advised all the beds are the same. Apart from that, this hotel is highly recommended for a 3 star facility." - Anonymous
"Standard hotel in a central location in Oporto." - Anonymous
"The hotel looks very scruffy from the outside but the rooms are fantastic. It felt like a spacious, modernly furnished two-room apartment. All leather furniture. Definitely staying there again next time we will come to Porto. Close to the shopping areas." - Anders Enkvist
"Great value, great location." - Victor Morales
