It is all about the location! Reasonable for what you pay.
Just off the main Khao San strip. Don't make the mistake I did and arrive at night. It's not easy getting luggage through the streets when they are so packed.
only stayed one night in this sawasdee inn. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good english. There were no extra facilities apart from room available, but you don't always need that in bangkok! couldn't see many shops within walking distance only a small morning market around the corner. Also hailing a taxi on the main road can be slightly difficult, however the porter from sawasdee came out with us immediately when he heard of our troubles and hailed one for us in no time, very helpful! the room was clean and bathroom was in a great state. pleasant stay.
The hotel is situated half way up the Khao san road down a small alley between the shops and by no means a problem to find. Its true the room is smaller than average but still bigger than a UK bedroom with ensuite. Air con, TV and minibar which wasnt expensive. My room was G3 (ground No3) right next to the check in desk which is adjacent to the 'loud disco' (as previously reported by another guest) which wasnt actually that loud and i couldnt hear it in my room. I think the word 'Disco' says all you need to know about that person! The staff were attentive, pleasant and always smiling. So really overall a good location, good facilties and i'd stay again.
The room with bathroom is very good for a budget hotel. Free drinking water, space for luggage, fridge. You have to pay 500 baths as refundable deposit. Free safety boxes. The breakfast is small. You have choice between Asian soup wit pork or chicken, two eggs with two toasts and jam or fruit with two toasts and jam.
Wonderful hotel with a great service for a budget hotel. The AC in my room stopped working and they gave me a new room right away.
The hotel is in the middle of town. Very hard to find if it is not pointed out to you. I never would have expected a hotel in that location. Very quiet for its location. It did the job for us, although you might call it basic. The room is small, but we were only there to sleep. Aircon, shower, toilet, fridge, it all worked and the staff was friendly.
Very good service, esp in comparison to Sawasdee Khao San Inn and the room was relatively large in comparsion (though smaller than most other inns). Staff were pleasant and helpful. They also allow luggage storage free of charge (though it's not all that secure since they just keep it behind the reservation counter). If you're a light sleeper this isn't the place for you - go to the Khao San Inn. The music from outside continues until 12 -1am... and it's thumping African beats. Pretty good for the price. And you can have pancakes with your breakfast coupon, not just the regular bacon and eggs deal (though that's on the coupon menu too).
The hotel was much nicer and quieter than we expected, considering it is located on the busy Khoasan Road. Good value for money, with a double bed, television with HBO, hot shower and room service. The room is quite small. Breakfast also included. The breakfast was good with a choice between American, Continental and Asian, with tea or coffee and unlimited toast. Try to get a room on one of the top floors (quieter). Next time we will book a room at the Sawasdee Smile in instead, as it is close to Khoasan Rd but much quieter. To locate the hotel look for the big purple sign in Khoasan Rd, then walk through the stalls and down the small alley behind them.
In spite of large signs on Kaosan Rd the hotel is difficult to find being situated down a narrow alley off the main Road. Although clean and quiet, the room was extremely small as was the bathroom. Good restaurant and food selection.
Location for this hotel is great, very convient to get around. The room is clean and breakfast is also good.
Very clean rooms ,just painted, friendly samnoentaff, best to get delux room with window, not much of breakfast menu but ok, located down small alley between Khaosan rd and Ratchadamnoen rd by bus stop, so good access to taxis, etc Internet in lobby, not airconditioned, but good speed I would stay here again .
I have been to Thailand many times and always stayed on the khosan road, this has been by far the best place I have ever stayed on Kho San Road ever.
whist i was there the internet was not working and the swimming pool was not in serrvice
A basic but clean hotel within a stones throw from the Khoa San road. Worth a stay if you're on a very tight budget, otherwise check out the Buddy Lodge hotel.
For Thailand this was really clean and pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is great just behind Khosan Rd.
The hotel was unbelievably cheap. This is ideal for backpackers on a very tight budget but not for travellers looking for rest and recreation.
