This is one of the cheapest hotels in Legian so you get what you pay for! At $18 for a room without AC you could probabely do better by upgrading to their deluxe double with AC at $25....this room is actually OK! Location is good with access to the beach and to Legian Road and a wide range of eateries.
Yes this is a budget hotel, so you get what you pay for. What I really like about this place is the staff are very helpful and as a single traveller I got to meet lots of great people also traveling either alone or just with another friend. I've stayed at 5 star resorts in Bali before and you just don't get this opportunity in places where guests just want privacy and to be left alone. I'll definitely be staying here on my next visit to Legian!

our room was huge but no windows,hand held hose shower ..dvd player in room handy,very central location to beach/shops/bars etc..aircon in room worked well..yes would recommend this hotel-good value
its a good hotel and its worth for the price paid.
It was not what i expected from the pictures but hotel was clean and in a great location. Pool area was nice and room service was great. Although it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room.
I have stayed at many hotels in bali over the past 17 years, and would have to say sayang maha mertha was the cleanest budget hotel i have stayed at. I would highly recomend the accommodation to any budget traveler.

place is under going renovation. pretty noise in the day. Room - single room.was diff from hotel pic, smaller. was quite comfortable . Food - breakfast free : coffee/tea, toast and juice or freah fruits.Egg and meat extra chrg. waa happy with selection Lunch and dinner: limited menu Location - quite diffcult to diff during the night as locate is at the end of a small street. Overall: all is good.

Friendly and accomodating staff. This is not the Ritz but has everything for a safe place to stay and a great place to meet a variety of different people ! Excellent for budget travellers !!!
Very nice staff. only stayed in the basic rooms. Basic toilet/shower. But very cheap for the area. Sunken bar is not connected to the pool, U must leave the pool to get to it. other than that its excellent value for money!
very basic but clean $32 for family [5] with a pool & breakfast good value
