This hotel is situated close to the city center, however it was not so pleasant to walk from the metro station to the hotel late in the evening. Service in this hotel was excellent! Receptionists were always very helpful. It is also good to know that you can be transferred to the city center free of charge with the hotel vehicle on every full hour between 18:00 and 22:00.
It is definitely not three stars - and the price on the wall (200 Euros) must be phantasy, but for the price at [website] it was worth the stay.
Single room with 1 large bed, ensuite bathroom and shower & with all modern facilities
Double room with 1 large bed and ensuite bathroom and all modern facilities
Triple room with 3 beds and ensuite bathroom and all modern facilities
It's very enough for business and site-seeing purpose if you can get the room at the cheap price.
Found this hotel to be basic - as expected for price but clean and in a good proximity for transport services and city centre ( fairly quiet too considering location). What was exceptional were the helpfull and very friendly staff there. Restaurant food was about average prices, and again basic but really quite nice. Breakfast also good and plenty to chose from. Overall for a budget priced hotel - not bad at all.
The breakfast specially the bakery is great. Location is near a market every saterday. Arab restaurants are nearby. The area is safe you do not need to worry as some people commented. Close to underground station. The hotel is very basic but staff are helpful.
best they can, confortable stay
The Hotel is situated in a bad area although for 2 men it will not be a problem, it is not ideal for women travelling alone. During the night it was a bit noisy as there are some bars in the vicinity. The interior of the room, the price and breakfast. The underground station is situated 7 minutes walk away from the hotel and it goes directly to Schuman without the need to change which is ideal for business travellers.
The hotel is located walking distance to central Brussels. The area though is not very good. We had a very nice breakfast and the rooms were clean, although they can do with new carpets and a paint. The staff was very friendly, but the shuttle was out of order and did we have to walk to the station and from the centre in the evening.
The internet did not work. I had to use the service in the lobby and it was not cheap. These hotels should mention if the internet service in charged or not.
The Scandinavian is known to the tourist information people in the train station. They will help you with directions as the midi train station is enormous & very confusing. The best way to the hotel is to take the underground metro one stop only and you come out int he street. We arrived at 1pm and check in is 3pm. We were not allowed into th room and charge 1 euro per piece to hold the luggage. we opened the window in our room and then couldnt close it and it took some effort to get someone to come and fix it. The area could be described as very colourful - lots of african and turkish restaurants or very dodgy eg two streets down is a working abatoir depending on what you like. Our room looked out on an industrial roof with barbed wire & broken windows. We had the best kebab ever plus fries just down from the hotel for 3 euros each. No tea and coffee in the room and no free wifi available. Good breakfast.
Handy for Bussels Midi Station and for public transport. Not in the most sulubrious area of the city, but service, room and breakfast were all more than adequate.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very keenly priced hotel close to Midi station (for Eurostar) and in walking distance of central Brussels. No problems with cleanliness, despite a few strange comments from other users. On a noisy main road, opposite bars, so the rear of the hotel may be quieter. No air conditioning in the room - you get what you pay for.
have to say the staff were very friendly courteous and helpful and i enjoyed my stay immensely
Very pleasant hotel, but not very well situated. Kind and competent service. Wonderful choice for the breakfast. Quite and cosy room. One remark though - the windows were not cleaned for a while.
There was a limited selection for the buffet breakfast, some of the food quickly ran out and was not replaced!!
Clean hotel near the Gare diu Midi.
Quite clean, textile carpent. Towels changed every day. Bathroom was old and couple hairs were on the floor. Prize was cheap. And I could wisit there again.
Good facilities. Very good helpful staff and service. A bit inconvenient to reach the hotel by foot.
Hotel near city center and eurostar/TGV station both 10min walk. Free carpark
My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights in June. While the accomodation was somewhat basic, it was great value for money! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a nice selection of rolls, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea/juice, and assorted meats/cheese. There was a cute little bar at the front. Based on previous reviews, we asked for a quiet room and that's what we received. It was only a 10 minute walk to Gare du Midi Station and 20 minute walk to the Grand Place. At first, we were somewhat concerned about the neighborhood, and when we were out the first night, we took a taxi back to the hotel after dark, but did walk back the next 2 nights (around 10pm) and didn't feel uncomfortable at all. I just wish we'd had time to explore some of the local cafes. If you want to explore Brussels on a budget and don't mind basic accomodation in an area that isn't the most pristine, give it a try. We'd definitely go back again! Reviewer is from Scotland
