Getting there:BY AIR: Once you've arrived at Venice's Marco Polo Airport, there are several ways to reach the Hotel Scandinavia: . Private water taxis can come directly alongside the hotel in Rio di Santa Maria Formosa. The average fare is about 85 Euro. · The "Alilaguna" motor boat (10 Euro per person) will take you to San Zaccaria (Piazza San Marco) in 1 hour, followed by a ten minute walk. · The Venezia ATVO "Venezia Air Terminal" bus will bring you to Piazzale Roma in 20 minutes. To reach the Hotel Scandinavia, take vaporetto no. 1 or no. 82 to the Rialto stop and then proceed on foot for about 5 minutes. BY TRAIN: As soon as you exit the station, take vaporetto no. 1 or no. 82 to the Rialto Bridge and then proceed on foot to the Hotel. It will take you about 5 minutes on foot. BY CAR: If you have parked your car at the Tronchetto, you can reach the Hotel by taking vaporetto no. 82; if you've parked in Piazzale Rome take vaporetto no. 1 or no. 82 to the Rialto.

The internet connection was terrible, however, the two main hotel staff both named andrea, were absolutely wonderful, they were always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was minimal, but the food was still good. Personally, a little over priced as we went to a hotel which we thought was much better and it was 50 euros cheaper.
Had a great stay in this friendly, well located hotel. Very comfortable and convenient to everything. Recommend it.
Wonderful location and staff. Hotel is quiet and the rooms very comfortable. This was my third stay at the Scandinavia and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
The location was exactly as we wanted, i.e. close to everywhere. 5 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco, 5 minutes to the Rialto Bridge. Location-wise you couldn't ask for more. Hotel was clean and well furnished, rooms were cleaned every morning. The concierges in particular were wonderful and always ready to offer assistance. It was a very nice, 3 star hotel, in the heart of Venice.
had 3 upper floors but no lift , room was clean but very small , breakfast was very basic. there was no bar . overall it done the job for sleaping in ,was close to attractions , was clean, and staff were pleasant , average hotel which we would rate 3 out off 5
The room was very big. However, we did not have a good view and the breakfast was not good at all.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpfull. Bedroom was a good size as was the bathroom. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice. Hotel is well situated to get to all the main attractions and not to far from the water bus stop at Rialto Bridge. Would use this hotel again.
Elsewhere stories of scaffolds and power cuts but no evidence Feb 08. Breakfast basic but sufficient. Rooms clean and quiet but no kettle. Excellent location approx 5min from Rialto or 10 from San Marco. For a Venice location quite easy to find. For less touristy food area head off via NW corner of square for 5min.

Great location, close to St Mark's Square, hotel staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and breakfast was adequate. Would definitley stay here again on return to Venice.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Double room spacious. Eat as much as you like at breakfast. 10 min walk from St Marks Square, if you don't get lost. Restaurant across the square 1 minute walk. Would stay here again.

Hotel is located in a piazza about 5 minutes walk from San Marco. Our room overlooked the piazza which contains two cafes and several market stalls. The service and included breakfast were excellent, although be prepared for a 10 minute walk (if you don't get lost) from the ferry terminal to the hotel.
Expensive but with good location in Venice mainland.
