This well-loved and historic landmark, formerly known as the MLC Building, has been completely refurbished and transformed into the stylish 4-star Scenic Hotel Auckland Constructed in 1954, it was Auckland’s first high-rise office building. Getting there:BY CAR: When travelling by car take the motorway into Auckland city, take the Nelson street off ramp and turn right on to Cook Street . At the Fourth set of traffic lights turn left onto Queen Street. Take the first right turn on to Airedale Street. The Scenic Hotel Auckland is located on the corner of Airedale and Queen Street. TAXIS: located at any airport you will find a vast number of taxis or shuttles. A taxi from Auckland Domestic or International Airport should cost between NZ$50.00 - NZ$60.00 (no tip required) while a shuttle will cost you approx NZ$40.00, however the shuttle will be a longer trip as they will drop off other customers at different hotels throughout the trip. The airport bus service leaves Auckland airport every 20 minutes and costs NZ$18.00 one way. The bus has a stop at the Auckland Town Hall which is opposite the Scenic Hotel Auckland.
Check-in Procedure:A credit card will be required at check in with the cardholder present. Should a credit card not be available then a cash bond of $300.00 will be required at check in.
Car parking:Parking costs NZ$20.00 per day. Valet service available.
Child Policy:Up to two children under the age of twelve, using existing bedding, stay free of charge.
Overall, everything was great except when we asked for another bed-sheet it took a very long time to arrive.
Great little room. Compact but had everything we needed. Nice comfortable double bed, nice big LCD tv, microwave, opening windows etc. Unfortunately, being on Queen Street on a Friday night, it was so incredibly noisy! The noise from drunken youths continued till after 5am (opening windows are old so let in a lot of noise). When the noise finally died, the construction work from the building next door started at 7am which was even worse! Not so good for a weekend stay but great location on Queen St nevertherless.

Our stay at the Scenic Hotel Auckland was very enjoyable, the staff were very helpful and friendly and it was very convenient for our purpose.
No real complaints here. A very new Hotel inside the old MLC building at the top end of Queen St. There is a good restaurant on ground floor/street level. Everything at your fingertips, public transport etc. It is a bit of a hike down to the waterfront, but there are plenty of buses if walkings' not your thing. Overall, a pleasant stay.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel - this is the second time I've chosen to stay here. Apart from the hotel initially misplacing my luggage, I couldn't fault it. Great room provided, well serviced and looked after, and my room had both air conditioning and windows that opened. I was staying in a Queen Street facing room, which was a bit noisy during the evening, but I slept really well. I'd recommend the Scenic Hotel to anyone staying in Auckland.
An excellent place to stay in the city, close to everything and the food and service is great. A very comfortable place to stay. We will return.

This hotel was absolutely fine, I had no issue with staying here. Staff were very helpful, everything was clean and fresh and the handwash in the bathroom smelt great ;-) It was probably one of the best mid to low price range hotels I've stayed in, and would stay there again.

The room was ok. I expected a much biggger room as the picture I saw on the website had a much larger room. Also, I was quite disgusted by the fact that the cleaners had not cleaned the fridge/freezer out properly. There was leftover icecream from previous guests! That is disgusting! That alone was enough to ruin my experience there.
We found the staff at the front desk very helpful and friendly.The hotel is very central and the bus stop to the airport is out front of the hotel.The room we had was clean and very quiet.
The staff were very obliging, we had a quiet room and enjoyed the restaurant as well. Bus services were right outside the door which was very convenient. We would stay here again. thanks.

Being right in the centre of Auckland and across from the Townhall was fabulous (Arriving by car I followed the instructions to get there without problems). Parking by Valet excellent and they did not mind to bring me my cell which I had left in the car. Friendly reception too. Noise from Queenstreet was a bit annoying on Friday night, we expected that, in-house noise non-existent. Would stay there again.
Good hotel, with large rooms located in the midle of Auckland
The hotel was consistent with its star rating and was very reasonably priced.
