Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands is situated on four and a half acres of well-maintained, park-like grounds. Our 38 chalet style units newly refurbished have exposed timber beam ceilings, and a Balinese theme throughout. Many of our hotel units have their own private balcony, while others open out onto our grassed courtyard or garden areas. In addition to our chalet style rooms are our newly completed 56 deluxe rooms. They are spacious, beautifully decorated in a Balinese style and offer lots of natural light. Each room consists of two queen sized beds, ensuite bathroom, LCD TV, CD stereo, Broadband internet, patio or balcony looking out to gardens. There are 3 modern rooms fully equipped for our disabled guests' comfort. These rooms include ramp entrance and special bathroom facilities. Our facilities & services include guest lounge bar, fully licensed restaurant, two conference venues, swimming pool;, tour desk for all local activities, ample guest parking, guest laundry and drycleaning, secretarial services, e-mail & Internet access. Getting there:Situated at the entrance to Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Tropical gardens frame the building and give a sense of peace and tranquillity. The village with its many craft and souvenir shops and the wharf, from where cruises, fishing and sailing charters depart, is within easy walking distance. we found this place clean and tidy fair priced and the wifi was not bad
Nice, clean and very spacious rooms with two queen beds. The hotel is set on a wide open ground with nice landscape gardens and a short 5 mins walk to the waterfront and shops & jetty. The staffs were very polite and helpful. The only down side is the lack of wifi. My e-PC and Ipad cannot connect on the intranet cabble in the room. The charges for online access is $4 per 30mins which is quite steep

Lovely hotel with good facilities. Had a problem with the mattress smelling of beer and when reported it was fixed very promptly. Asked for a baby cot on booking which had to be repeated on checking in and this was promptly organised and was being set up when we entered the room. Staff were excellent.
Well located - easy 10 minute walk into town. Upgraded on arrival to delux room overlooking the garden. Staff freindly & helpful & rooms very clean & modern. Very few guests so full breakfast ordered off the menu instead of a buffet. Very nice hotel.
This "hotel" is more like a motel, two storeys and parking outside your unit, that also has a licenced dining room. However it is comfortable, and good value for money. Its location is a bit further away from the seafront than some of the more expensive hotels but it is still within walking distance of the jetty (from where the boats that cruise the Bay of Islands leave) and shops. Reception staff were friendly and efficient as were the bar and restaurant staff. If you are looking for a hotel (motel) that is value for money rather than something right at the jetty, then this may be the place for you.
Excellent! Would stay there again.Thanks to Dallas at reception for all her help. Dinner was wonderful, and our room with the bedroom in the loft was clean and modern.
This hotel is a minutes walk from the main sea-front where an abundance of restaurants and other activities are available. The room (a superior) was well appointed, clean and decorated to a modern style.
Hotel facilities were all that I was looking for. Room was better than expected - larger and with more convenient features and amenities than anticipated. Restaurant food quality was very good. Very nice pool.
Nice hotel but nothing special
Its just a short walk from the hotel to the waterfront which is a wonderful view of the Bay of Islands. The hotel location is handy without being right in the middle of the action. Our room was huge, and the small kitchen facilities provided meant we could easily save money and cook some of our own meals!
We recommend this hotel. Great breakfast choices and very reasonably priced. Spacious and clean room. Tastefully furnished. Toiletries especially nice.
Very good experience to be had here, room was perfect, clean and well appointed. Only downside is that the welcome wasnt all that appealing, no smiles or anything, not good for a tourist area.

Lovely room with private area to sit outside. Decor restful and well thought out. Our one complaint was that after a long day out we returned to our room and found it had not been serviced. However, after a call to reception this was remedied but we had to wait while the room was seen to before we could shower and get ready for dinner. Despite this, would stay at this hotel again as good location, lovely breakfast with lots of choice and relaxing grounds and rooms.
