Getting there:From the South - Turn right at the Race track along Highway 16, through town, over the railway overpass and bridge. Up and over through Denham Street along Bundock street. Turn right at Marshall St, there is a neon lit sign pointing to Seagulls Resort. From the north - Turn left at corner of Woolcock and Hughes Street, McDonalds Hamburgers is on the right hand side. Follow this street around the hill. Turn left into Marshall Street, there is a neon lit street sign pointing to Seagulls Resort. From the Airport - A Taxi will cost about $10.00 one way or shuttle bus one way $3.00. Or if you have your own hire car, travel along Old Town Common Road, turning left onto Bundock Street, turn left again at Marshall Street. There is a neon lit street sign pointing to Seagulls Resort. From the Bus transit centre - A taxi will cost approximately $10 From the Railway Station - A Taxi will cost approximately $15

Room was OK. The double bed was a double and a little narrow. Wall air conditioner was noisy
Great hotel, very nice setting! We travelled with our 1 year old girl and everything was great. Especially the pool.

Pleasant surroundings, very clean, the only fault is that there is not enough milk in the fridge for coffees,only 3 or 4 of those useless half full thimbles. you do get more at the reception if you ask for them though.all in all lovely stay.
The staff were all extremely helpful, we were upgraded due to wheelchair for mother and placed very close to smoking area as we had requested a smoking room but they don't do smoking rooms. the room was spacious and clean but don't leave a crumb lying around or ants arrive. The grounds were well laid out and very nice saw a goanna and frogs but the mossies are big.
Overall, happy with facility however annoyed that i was woken at 9am by house-keeping when check out was at 10am.
Quiet location, short walk to the Strand. Good restaurant. Value for money. Have now been there a number of times and have never been diaspointed.
Spent one night on journey north. Excellent value for money with all the facilities required. Would return again.
Top place - will always stay there when in Townsville
some distance from c.b.d. but does run a shuttlebus a few times a day,not far from airport.restaurant in attractive setting.
The room was lovely you could see that it has been renovated recently. My biggest complaint was the fact that the bad was extremely soft. Otherwise the staff were wonderful. The location was a bit unfortunate with all the road works it was hard to find.

Seagulls is a great complex on the beach...a little out of the way from town but worth it for the peace and quiet. The pool area is excellent and all staff (especially reception) great (the best in Australia, where we found reception staff good anyway). Our only criticism was the rooms - big but a bit 'motelly'. We had a standard room which had limited facilities, although those fantastic staff lent us crockery, cutlery etc...
Air conditioning did not work properly between hours of 1am to 3am - most uncomfortable ! ! We turned up for dinner at 8pm to be told all cooking facilities were turned off - dining hours were advertised "until 9pm" and no booking was advised. The apprentice cook did make a good effort and provided a meal (not of our choosing). It was very hard to find as the address is listed as "Esplanade" but in reality was actually in Primrose street - Esplanade was dead end.
Service and room size/style were good. I found the hotel too far from the main Esplanade restaurants (too far to walk comfortably when it's hot) and the midgees ate me alive when I was sitting by the pool! I wouldn't stay here again.
location given as average as it is out of the centre of townsville ,but beautiful gardens , pool area and open-air restaurant more than compensates. a real piece of tropical paradise ! very relaxing.
Very nice place. Can't fault the quality, comfort or service but it really is at the back of nowhere. There is a courtesy bus into town but, for anyone wanting to be a bit nearer to the centre of things, this has to be a serious consideration.
Excellent place to stay.
For a hotel of this star rating one would expect to have a queen or better bed.There is not much atmosphere about the room and very noisey.Also no facilities for self breakfast and no toaster.Broadband internet was out for the duration of our stay.
The hotel has a Bali like appearance with nice tropical setting.
