Although the hotel is located in a very convenient location this was somewhat offset by the service. To be frank, the staff were poorly trained and we spent hours (literally) sorting out payment. Our rooms had been prepaid by HotelClub and the hotel insisted that we be charged (again). Later the charges by the hotel were reversed but it took a great deal of time and effort to resolve this issue. I put this down to the lack of staff training. There was one staff member - a trainee who seemed to be the only one who knew how to proceed. Not an ideal sitatuation given we stayed for a short period and were in the middle of organising a wedding.
The hotel is located in a nice place with easy access to the subway. The room is very small for two people if you're staying longer than 2 nights. People at the reception was friendly, but the service was quite slow. Overbooking seemed to be something usual.
At first they allocated a very small room for two people but upon our objection we were upgraded. Thereafter our stay was most satisfactory
Very good clean hotel, great service and value for money
Room with good and new standard/quality. Some rooms are a bit small..choose the "club Room"... but anyway value for money and good location. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
The room was extremely small, we were two friends with a suitcase each. One suitcae bloked the entrance door and the other blocked the toilet door. Almost impossible to be two persons there. Location was nice close to the sub and everything i Nott. Hill. The room was nicely decorated.
Very small room, but clean and with all that one needs. Very helpful at reception.
Tiny rooms, but clean and comfortable and friendly. Recommended.
Gym/ Fitness facilities are well below standard, a blight on an otherwise excellent experience
Friendly check-in and check-out. Room well appointed although on the small side (not unusual for central London). Would recommend for a short stay in London.
This hotel has been decorated really nicely from the foyer through to the rooms and the male receptionist we encountered on arrival was extremely helpful and courteous. Initially we were shown to probably one of the smallest rooms in the hotel. Although tiny the facilities and standard of modern decoration meant we weren't fussed - we'd made a last-minute booking afterall, however the window was open and right outside was a noisy air-conditioning flue. We shut the window and discovered why it had been open! There was a slight but noticeable smell coming from the bathroom. We mentioned it to reception who straight away without any bother offered to change our room. (They are obviously aware of the problem!) Our new room was an upgrade and we had a really comfortable and pleasant stay. We've stayed in various hotels in London and would go back to this hotel again, they've put a lot of thought into the room design and decor.
Nice hotel, but the room was to small!
Nice hotel, nice breakfast and friendly staff. Would recommend to my friends.
good place to stay though the room is a little too small good facilities
Rooms are small, but I guess that's London for you - everything else was 4* quality.
I took a group of students to this hotel and found the hotel impressively clean, and the staff generally exceptionally helpful. The breakfast room staff was unfailingly courteous. There were small blots on our experience: the lift was out of order most of our two weeks there, and the bar was out of commission the first few days. There were a few days when the water was out of service for repairs but these periods were very short and bottled water was provided. I found the value good for my needs and will likely return next year.
Really nice homey feel.
It's simple. The location is great, you are right in the middle of 19th century buildings, and making the 5 minute walk from the tube is very cool. If you want a cheap place, located centrally and spend your time outside of the hotel, but feeling ok about coming back for the night, than this is a good alternative.
Small room. Very helpful staff. Convenient location near the underground station All in all a good budget option for staying in London.
The Hotel is Very clean and comfortable; the continental breakfast is very good; and the bar prices are very reasonable compared with other hotels i have stayed in
