Very pleased with the hotel. Room & hotel common areas are well decorated with a mix of Chinese traditional features with modern conveniences. Hotel is in Chinatown, with plenty of eating places. There's even a Tops supermarket at the first floor. Service staff are very helpful when I asked for help. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Bangkok. Will definitely come back again!
omg fanbloodytastic. poirot style setting, soooooooooo nice people, friendly awesome place, would go back in a heartbeat.
A beautiful design/boutique hotel in the heart of Chinatown, Bangkok. Breakfast choice could be better, but it's sufficient. Staff is friendly and tries to satisfy you in your needs.
Friendly Staff, Good Location
The room was very badly ventilated, no clean air whatsoever - and the A/C just made it worse, left with a head cold. Otherwise great place and great service.
Good for tourist who like Eastern culture. The hotel room is spacious for its price and the complimentary breakfast is marvellous with 4 choices on the menu. Take a metered taxi at the airport to the hotel cost 300 Bahts (A10). Make sure you have got 25 + 45 Bahts to pay for the toll. Each taxi has got seat belts at the back seat but there is no buckle to be found. All taxi drivers though are nice but drive like a Grampix driver doing 130K on the 100K limit freeway. SO please close your eyes and pray for the 30-minute trip. The hotel is only a 15-minute walk to Hua Lomphong MRT station opposite to Bangkok Railway station. The subway (MRT) and sky train (BTS) systems are marvellous for visiting Bangkok.
It's a very unique botique hotel in the Bangkok China Town. The retro Chinese is fantastic, you will find a surprise at some corner of the hotel=) The is a good power shower head in hotel but the drainage is rather poor...so be careful for over enjoy your shower and flood the floor=p Other than that, it's a decent hotel sincere you wouldnt be using much hotel failities while u know there are some great tourist spot just outside waiting for you.
In general, Shanghai Mansion Bangkok is good in terms of price & hotel room. Though almost no facilities, the cleanliness & friendly counter staff make up for all that is amiss.
its a special expereince to stay in this hotel. the rooms and everything decorate in chinese style and its really special. if you want to stay in China Twon its a great location but if you want to travel outside of china twon there is no BTS around so you have to take tuktuk ar taxi
a little bit expensive considering it didn't include breakfast. However, room was nicely decorated and in Chinese style. Service was good with hotel staff friendly and helpful.
A strange place but the staff were very friendly & helpful. Excellent value for money & about the best hotel in this area, great massage facilities, but we would never go back to this area. Very ethnic, crowded & smelly in the streets.
A very pleasant and calm place to stay, in the heart of bustling Chinatown. Since our flight was at midnight, we were able to leave our bags at the hotel, come back later in the day and shower and change before heading for the airport, for a very nominal fee. My husband (6') was uncomfortable on the two mattresses pushed together; I wasn't bothered, though. My main gripe would be that they pushed a set fee taxi on us several times at a rate that was much more than the going meter rate. We finally did get the price down, though.
It is situated right in the heart of China Town so traffic is chaotic and pretty noisy down the streets. But this guarantee no problem in finding food and enjoying all sort of Chinese delicacies, also lots of goldsmith to spend your fortune.
Nicely decorated rooms and comfortable made up for the fact that you could not see out the windows. Staff seem somewhat disinterested in you - not unusual for a big city but most unlike any other place in Thailand.
Very nice new hotel in the heart of Chinatown. Booked a room for 2 people, as my Thai girlfriend and I was going to stay there, but had to argue and sign and agreement for extra pay of 1000 bath because of a visitor. Couldn't convince the guy in the reception that the room was book and prepaid for 2 people! At check out they made a calculation error of almost the same amount, so maybe that was the compensation! But a very nice recommendable hotel
Hotel was very cool - roooms are lovely. Location is pretty good, but you have to like Asian food, as being in Chinatown that's pretty much all there is. Rooms were quieter than I would have thought for the noisy location. The only bad thing was the staff tried to get me to pay a fixed price for a taxi to the airport instead of the metered taxi, when I said no, the bellboy tried to convince me that it would be cheaper of there was no traffic and the price suddenly dropped. I said no again, and would rather take my chances. The taxi fare by meter was half of the fixed price they were trying to get me to pay. I expect the staff at a hotel to be looking out for me and helping me find my way around, not trying to cheat me. That experience kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Pity, because otherwise it was great.
good hotel, stylish and reasonably priced but location lets it down - smack in the middle of chinatown which has little to interest tourists.
Note that The hotel US$-rate is 1:40 and Don't order breakfast for 9$ (breakfast or Dim Sum) the real cost is 160THB for breakfast and 225THB for Dim Sum.
You definately get what you pay for it was clean and breakfast was included. Also the people were really friendly when asking about Bangkok and helped to hail and bargon for a taxi and tuk tuk rides!
Nice decor and rooms. Good place to start or end a hoilday in Thailand
