Stayed in the Krungthep Wing of the Shangri La Bangkok recently for 6 nights in a Deluxe Balcony Suite and then 1 night in a Deluxe Balcony Room. My comments only relate to the Krungthep Wing facilities and staff, not the main wing of the hotel. The service is first class and exactly what you would expect of a five star luxury hotel. The staff are very professional and will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, whether it's for business or holiday. The Krungthep Wing packages are also excellent value for money, with breakfast, all day non-alcoholic drinks, personal butler, broadband internet, afternoon tea, cocktail hour and canapes all complimentary. This means the rooms are a lot cheaper (value for money) than you might first think. Excellent rooms, the Deluxe Suite I stayed in is bigger than my apartment at home, and had two balconies, a massive bathroom and a separate powder room/second toilet. I could not fault the hotel and will definitely be back.
Probably the best hotel i have ever stayed in. The staff were charming, efficient and ever helpful. The location is stunning. The restaurants were varied in style and excellent quality if slightly expensive. The Spa is unmissable.
Enjoyed seeing that Thai friendliness and courtesy are still beeing lived at this hotel today
Fantastic hotel, brilliant and friendly service, would highly recommend
Expecting a luxury hotel, was disappointed to find room small and shabby. Fabulous view over river and beautiful lobby but a watermelon juice which costs 35 bt everywhere else cost 235 bt (AUD 8-9) in the lobby. Carpets in halls dirty, no seating for check in for disabled or weary travellers. The position is magical being on the river with all its facilities at hand and surrounding streets full of interesting stores. At more than AUD 200 a night it was not good value for money.
In 25 years of travel this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Location is great; shopping, river and restaurants are close by and the staff cannot do enough for you. The only downside of this hotel like all others in Asia is that if you enjoy a glass of red make sure you have a friendly bank manager back in Aus.
Great location. Convenient. A little pricey for a holiday, but if you can afford it, go fo it!! The BTS (train system) is just next to the hotel. there are little shops along the streets nearby for a quick browse but easy enough to get to other shopping locations like MBK Plaza..
Excellent hotel. Wonderful views along the river. Central location very close to water transport and sky train. Service impecable and retaining much Thai culture.
The Bangkok Wing is a delight. The butler service was exceptional and the staff extremely friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Will be our home in Bangkok from now on !!!!
Wonderful hotel. Stayed there many times. Will continue. Club on 24th very comfortable.
This is an extremely good hotel. We stayed in Horizen Club which was excellent. We were made to feel special. The Horizen Club facilities were well worthwhile. The Lounge provided an intimate space which was wonderful. We look forward to our next stay.
Great hotel - would definetly go back.
Stayed in the Horizon Club near top floor. Excellent views of river. Complimentary breakfast, drinks and canapes. Thoroughly recommended.
A top class hotel offering great service with friendly and helpful staff. The location on the river is superb especially for dining. With close proximity to river taxis and skytrain, the Shangri-La is an ideal base for seeing Bangkok's attractions. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The location was convenient to the skytrain and the Horizon level facilities were pleasant.
Usual high standards of service & quality you expect from Shangi La Hotels. The Horizon Club rooms are excellent with own reception and complimentary drinks and snacks available all day. Free evening cocktails and canapes finish off what is not only an exclusive but excellent value for money service. Highly recommended.
Excellent Hotel. Go for the Horizon Club option for that little bit of extra pampering.
It belongs to the top ten worwilde hotel and it woth it !! This hotel is just amazing for everything !!!
wonderful hotel, super location and with a lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood.
This is an excellent hotel that I would highly recommended. The Spa/Beauty parlour is also excellent and highly recommended.
