Shangri-La Hotel The Marina Cairns

we have travelled overseas around the world yet one of the best experiences we have had by far was in this facility last week. We will definitely be back here for another stay.

I booked this last minute not really knowing what to expect and not knowing exactly how close it was to the water. Wow!!! The hotel is steps from the marina walkway and restaurants and trip bookings were literally at the hotel front door step. The staff were amazing, friendly and were from different parts of the world which i thought added to the charm and world experiences I was looking for. The rooms were spotless and even on days when i forgot to put a "please clean my room" card on the door, I came back to a clean and made up room. I would definitely book this hotel again if i came back to Cairns. The location and customer service was spot on. Definitely the location of this hotel gives you the sense of seeing the true waterfront area. Sipping lattes every morning while watching the sailboats in the marina was unmatched to any other hotel facing the marina for that price we paid.

Great room, staff & location. Paid a little more for Horizon Club and was great value.

Very large room with excellent facilities although decor a tad tired. The Marina view was wonderful and deck/balcony just big enough to relax on. Location is great as walking distance to all main attractions. Will be back for R&R - whilst on business the free wireless was great.

Nice location, nice room and courteous staff. they have the tours on site so very helpful in that way. also the restaurants are close by.

Had an excellent holiday stay at this hotel. Also very good value in September.

Our family stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the facilities, the location would have to be the best in Cairns, the rooms are a bit dated but very clean, comfortable and staff very friendly, will be staying there again and would recommend it to friends.

The breakfast at the horizon club was of a sub-standard compared to standards set by other sangria la hotels. otherwise recommended!

We arrived early and were unable to check in , so we were shown to the early arrivals lounge to wait. We were told we could shower there and have a cup of coffee. The early arrivals lounge is not up to standard. Not clean, not stocked, eg, the shower gel receptacle was empty, so was the hand wash gel receptacle. No milk for coffee or tea. It was dirty, and substandard. It was not comfortable enough to stay for even 5 minutes. The actual hotel rooms are ok but really , the impression one gets of a hotel starts from the beginning and the early arrivals lounge was terrible, it made us unsure of whether we bked the right hotel!

Great location with all the required amentities close by. Free car parking was a plus. Staff were very friendly.

We were very unimpressed with this hotel and based on the room rate we paid there are a lot of other hotel options that are better value for money. Very nice location but is in need of a good refurbishment

Lovely Hotel, complimentary parking, very reasonable bar prices at the Pool, very good value with room service - free kids meal when an adult meal was ordered.

We booked in for 3 and got a room for 2 we all had to sleep in the on bed. there was mould in the shower and the hotel halls were not clean. Not impressed

Most of staff are friendly, only one of duty manager was not really helpful and gave false name to guest/customers. Beware for guests!! The hotel should renovate a little bit for hotel rooms and the facilities of the rooms such as drawers, tv, lighting, shower bathroom and tiles are faded and old condition. This hotel in Cairns doesn't look like 5 stars hotels with the expensive rate for one night.

Excellent value hotel. I will be staying here again.

A Premier 5 star hotel with great staff in the best location in Cairns

The hotel is very comfortable but is tired and needs to be renovated. The showers in the bathtub are very poor and not suitable for tall people and in fact are quite dangerous getting in and out of
