Getting there:Located 70km's from Cairns airport, approx. Less than one hours drive on a scenic road. Follow the road into Port Douglas, called Part Douglas Road; this will continue as Davidson Street, Shantara is located on the left hand side of Davidson Street, 100 meters from Macrossan Street.
Check-in Procedure:IMPORTANT: Please supply arrival times with a phone number. After hours check in to advise 48 hours prior to arrival with details of arrival times, flight details, or if self drive, etc. If transfers are required this can be arranged.

Well maintained apartment block. No children...which was great. Close to the main strip and beach.
Spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment. Reception staff very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Great location, within walking distance of all restaurants and the beach. Will definitely stay at the Shantara Resort if we return to Port Douglas

We had an excellent stay at the Shantara and will be staying again when in Port Douglas. We stayed in a pool deck apartment which was well equipped and was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and arriving after hours was no problem. It is well situated, close to main street and beach - only a short walk to both.
Good Location - 350 m from Main street (Macrossan St) and about 1k to the Wharf. It is also close to the beach. Apartment was well laid out with a good sized balcony overlooking a beautiful pool. Bed was comfortable. The walkways through to the ooms give the impression of being in a rainforest walk. Very cool!
We really enjoyed our stay....The resort also gave us the option to "upgrade" to the apartment.... They took care of everything including tour bookings and booking restaurants. The location was superb...only a 5 min walk to the main street and also only a 5 min walk to the beach. We certainly recommend in upgrading to an apartment for long term stays. We will certainly go back there next time we are back in Port Douglas....
Excellent, clean and well equipped room. We stayed in a 1BR apartment which was great. However didn't expect that servicing was not included and would cost an additional $30 a night. We declined. Disappointed to be questioned when requesting additional toilet paper and shampoo after our supplies were exhausted after 3 nights. That said, recommend the hotel. Service staff helpful.
Nice new building with great pools. Staff were very helpful in organising tour bookings and other travel assistance. However, I did feel that five star marketing is just wrong, the location was not bad but still a decent walk from everything, and that the 'extra charges' for room service just didn't match the price we paid.

We found the Shantara overall to be excellent - it was very central and the one bedroom apartment we had was spacious and had all the facilities to make our stay very comfortable. The staff were also very helpful
ShanTara Resort is a beautiful boutique resort for couples without children. The rooms are beautifully appointed. We had a pool deck room which was a great advantage in the hot conditions. The staff were very helpful and overall we enjoyed our stay immensley. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this resort.
We had a great time at Shantara. The room was very spacious and clean with a great spa bath and nice balcony. The two swimming pools were also beautiful and the staff were lovely. We will definitely go back!
We loved staying here in one of the studio pool deck rooms. It was during the off season so was very quiet anyway but had a very relaxing time. Close walk to the best restaurants and shopping. Would stay there again if we go back to Port Douglas.
The staff at Shantara Resort were very pleasant and friendly. We would recommend this Resort to all of our friends, it was very cosy
I would say that the resort and facilities are very good for couples and singles. I found the reception staff very helpful and friendly especially as I was travelling alone. They offered to book any trips/restaurants/activities that I required. The spa onsite is also an added luxury and I felt was very good value for money. I was particularly pleased I booked the jacuzzi apartment as it was a generous size compared to the other apartments I saw although it was considerably more expensive.
No TV in the bed room only in the living room,but they do have 3 movie cable channels. Internet slow and very pricey. No food, Ice or vending machines in the building. About a 10min walk to nearest food or restraunt. 1 block from the beach with no view. Rooms are well appointed and clean, reception is open 8am to 6pm.
A very enjoyable stay at this resort. It is within walking distance of the beach and town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would be happy to stay there again.
We had a room with our own pool deck which was ideal. Very quiet and well run resort, in easy walking distance to the beach and shops/restaurants. We have been to Port Douglas several times but this is the best accommodation we've had and would certainly book it next time.
We were very pleased with this accommodation and would recommend it highly to anyone.
