We loved our stay at the Mirage. Comfortable rooms, that although may need updating, were very clean, comfortable and cool in the summer. Beautiful resort, with lovely pools (too many to choose from), great location on the beach front and lovely tropical surrounds. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever had! Port Douglas is a stunning town, with easy access to the Barrier Reef and Daintree, and staff helped us arrange our day trips. We would highly recommend the Mirage and will definitely be staying there again when we return to Port Douglas.

this is a beautiful hotel with spacious facilities and great location. Our Garden room was secluded, quiet and more than adequate. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. I would certainly recommend it to all my friends
Great hotel, loved the 5 acre lagoon style pool, buffet breakfast was great (as it was included), rooms were very clean. Service left a bit to be desired, surely a 5 tick (not star) restaurant could provide fresh milk for tea in the room, when I called they were willing to charge for this service.
Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. Restaurant service excellent but service in Daintree bar rather slow. Breakfast buffet excellent. Would definitely visit again and I highly recommend it. People in Tour Desk very helpful and friendly.
We thought the hotel was wonderful. The service from the employees and the facilities... The rooms could use upgraded TV's and the tables on the balcony were so big that my husband and I could barely sit out there. The biggest complaint I would have is the price you charge for alcohol at the resort. I think if you looked at the prices you charge, a lot more people would stay around and enjoy the lounge. We quite honestly went to town a lot for dinner and a night out because of this. We still really enjoyed our stay
I couldn't find the entrance!Be careful!
The ubication is fantastic and tthe attention is fine but the hotel looks very old and the instalations too.
An excellent hotel though needs updating to bring it into this century. The staff were very attentive and mostly from overseas. On arrival we were upgraded to a villa from the original booked room as the main building was full due to three conferences. Even though it was lovely, though dated, the villa was about 1 km from dinning and pool areas. We asked to be moved back and we were moved after two days. As we were there for our silver wedding anniversary they surprised us with a bottle of champagne after a day out. The grounds are well kept, the location great and overall a very nice experience.
The beach, grounds, pools and rooms are fantastic but the coffee is terrible.
Our stay at the Sheraton Mirage was lovely. The facilities and services were great, as with its location. The lagoon style swimming pool is exceptional whilst their buffet breakfast was impressive - the Sheraton does this well! The one thing the resort needs to do as a whole is update its decor; you feel like you have stepped back in time - an 80's flash back! The TV and internet facilities in our room, were very inadequate, actually it was quite embarrassing. The TV would have been bought in the early 90's and the internet connection offered was through this very same TV at an exorbitant price; which is very surprising given how easily (and cheaply) these facilities can be updated. We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton, as to whether we would stay there again.... let's just say it is a strong maybe...
Yes, can see that hotel has been good at the time when it was built in 80's. Little tired, needs at least coat of paint.
The Sheraton is advertised as the premier resort for Port Douglas, however i think its days of glory are over. Its incredibly dated and is clear as soon as you walk in the hotel reception and this aged decor continues throughout the facilities. The pool areas are fantastic and this can not be faulted. As for service, i can honestly say that no staff members were rude ,however there was no 5 star service, for example, there was issues with checking in, the room allocation and other episodes where we ordered lunch, (which was very expensive - $31 for a chicken ceaser) we were then asked to "sign off' before we received the meals., drinks were served in plastic cups, despite a designated meals area When we ordered a desert later around the pool it took over 45 mins to be served and then graciously served with a plastic teaspoon. The location is perfect, the rooms are a great size, staff are polite but this is not worth the money and sadly we regret staying there.
Excellent facilities, helpful staff. Service a bit slow in the busy period especially in the lounge. But otherwise, an excellent stay!
Staff were not overly friendly in any area of the resort. Dissapointing to say the least. We wont be staying there again......
TV could have been larger hard to see and hear from many parts of the room
Staff are exceptionally polite and attentive and facilities are excellent. However, restaurants are overpriced and limited Menus are on offer.
Fantastic swimming lagoons, great location, although the rooms are in need of a little modinisation. Buffet breakfast was great, but we found the nightly seafood buffet extremely overpriced. Kids eat free program very good, but variety of food for 11-14 yearolds not very interesting.
This place was nice and close to the beach, however it's in desperate need of a renovation. It would have been cutting edge in the early 90's, but today - it's just old.
We were exceedingly pleased with the lagoon-side room we got. The size, quality and convenience of the pool was nonpareil! Yuko, the Japanese-Australian receptionist at the front desk, was fantastic and is an important reason we will return to Sheraton Mirage. The only thing that seemed lacking is a simple-menu restaurant available at all times. For offseason business, the huge and expensive buffet restaurant was a waste. $82 per person, wow!
