This is a fun and economical place to stay in New York. Not a hotel per se - no front desk or anything but small suites in an apartment building. I've listed service as "average" although there really isn't service. With a small kitchenette in each mini suite it makes for a very comfortable stay. Sometimes there are a few things missing - only one cup or something of that nature but the rooms are comfortable, the location, on a quite little street in the Village and the price all make for a great stay if you aren't the type of person that must have a concierge and 24 hours room service. I've just stayed there for the third time and will stay there again in the future.
Bring your own soap and shampoo. None provided. Be sure to remember what the building looks like. The photo on the website is accurate. It is an unmarked building with phone numbers visible through the front door. If you arrive early you'll need to walk 2+ blocks to get the key to the building and your room, which is a long code that you'll need to carry with you. The street is quiet and about a block from the W4th & 6th Ave MTA stop. There's a nice dinner just beyond it and plenty of bakeries across 6th Ave. The tubs are very tall. If you have limited mobility this is not the place for you. The staff at the office were very nice as was the cleaning woman.
Perfect Location, Friendly staff and a graet price. Clean but basic facilities. You will do well to find anything better in this price range.
Great stay!
GREAT LOCATION! THE ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT VERY SMALL!!! UTENSELS WERE MISSING AND THE SPA DIDN'T FUNCTION EVEN THOUGH THE BATHROOM WAS NEWLEY RENOVATED. NO RECEPTION OR INFORMATION ON SITE, NO ROOM CHECK (CLEANING/FRESH TOWLELS) DURING A 3 DAY STAY. SEVERAL PHONE NUBERS TO CONTACT BUT NOT REALLY USEFULL UNLESS YOU HAVE AMERICAN CELLPHONE....
+ nice location in Greenwich + nice roof terrace with nice views + clean bedroom and bathroom - noisy in staircase - availability of caretaker (a lot of phonenumbers to call, but no one there) - a lot of mosaic tiles in bathroom were broken - the jacuzzi did not work - the floor was not level
Nice end-18 century bld in heart of Village, near blues-bars and university campus
We had a pleasant stay at Minetta Suites, and will book it next time in NY.
AMAZING! Totally great accommodation for an even better price. Suggest they fix the faucet on the shower so you can actually shower and install a curtain and rod in 3B ...BUT it was the best find EVER! Loved it
Perfect location and very convenient. Independency and quiete.
When I first arrived, I was informed that I had been 'upgraded' to a different building and I was told to walk 1 1/2 blocks to that location. The building was a rather dodgy looking apartment block with questionable smells. The decor was ordinary and old. My protests were basically laughed at and I was told this was an upgrade because the room was much bigger. When the man saw how upset I was, I was moved back to the Signature Mini Suites Of Minetta. The room and street were much more pleasant, and the man kindly took my suitcase up the five flights of stairs for me. The room was small but perfectly acceptable. There was a jacuzzi, as promised, but it didn't work. Also the shower holder was broken so it had to be used as a hand shower only. I noticed the bath had not one but two different persons' hair left around and in it, nice. there was also hair stuck to the walls.
Great location, very nice neiborhoood. Do not expect to have someone waiting at the door when you check in. Make sure you have a cell phone, you will need it a lot! No room service, no maids, no clean towels. The mini suites are basically appartments. Expect to be on your own! We enjoyed the separate bedroom in the junior suite. Much too expensive for what it has to offer!
The phone numbers listed on the door did not work. Furthermore, once the staff was contacted the wait to get in was exceptionally long. The room itself was great and so was the location. Overall, a very good place to stay.
The hotel needs to tell guests that there is no elevator. This is very important for older or people who cannot navigate the narrow stairway. Hotel needs to explain how to use the services in the room such as air/heat etc. for those of us who have not seen the system before. The location is excellent however but some information would have been helpful. The room was very clean.
The room was small but fine - the espresso machine, mini-fridge and roof deck were nice perks. It's clean enough but not spotless. The sheets were scratchy. The location is great, right near the 6th Ave. trains and lower Manhattan neighborhoods. It IS one block from a stretch of NYU-oriented bars with all-day/night happy hours and a crazy scene.
In the middle of Greenwich Village with all the restaurants and bars right around the corner. located on a side street with no trafic and noise. Rooms are clean, no room service or clean up during our 2 night stay, we had to make our own bed. For New York the price is right.
It's great if you don't mind carrying your case up 4 flights of narrow stairs & want to be left alone to do your own thing & hate free toiletries. That's what you get! If you like hotels then go to a hotel. You'll be disappointed with this place & you can get one for a similar price Lacking Reception -you have to phone when you arrive to get someone to let you in Maid –nothing, change of towels/linen available on request, call free from room phone but it's a next day delivery service so plan in advance Toiletries -nothing Full size bath -there's a Jacuzzi but it's mini Shower curtain -you'll need extra towels! Service with a smile -guy who let us in was ok but didn't wanna be there Good Location Free local calls Comfy bed & new looking Air-con So-so Facilities –everything you need but nothing to use in it eg mini kitchen with fridge, hob & coffee machine but no coffee/pans and limited crockery/utensils
Location in NYC was fantastic. We would definitely stay there again in the future when we travel to NYC - and would also recommend to other people. We did fly out late on our last day and we were able to leave our bags secured while ran some last minute errands - really appreciated that!
5 floors, no elevator. Fantastic location. Fantastic rooftop patio space. Not serviced daily.
The room was tiny but that is a pretty standard gripe in New York. The staff was nice but pretty incompetent and check-in was a confusing mess. It is a good idea to call them before arrival to make sure they know what time you're planning on getting there- otherwise check-in is impossible until 3 and there is no where to leave your bags. All in all it was a good value for Manhattan
