Getting there:Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa is Located 7km from Mossman, 27km from Port Douglas (20min drive) and 83km north of Cairns airport (1 hour drive). Regular flights are available from all Australian capital cities with Qantas, Jetstar or Virgin Blue to Cairns. From Cairns, guests have the following transfer options: Self Drive Car rental is also available through all major car rental companies from Cairns Airport and City. The trip takes approximately 90 minutes from Cairns. Private Car Transfer Cairns Limousines offer a meet & greet service from Cairns Airport and the City. Idyllic would recommend to others .Peaceful ,comfortable food excellent . Would have liked to be able to have a simpler meal at dinner as may not have liked such fancy food. Breakfast delicious and large choice.I would go back and stay longer wished we had had two days here and not gone to [other hotel] waste of time there.

Located amongst magnificent rainforest beside the Mossman River, this hotel is unique. Good walking tracks around hotel. Meals expensive and servings small but there is no nearby alternative. Rooms attractively set in rainforest. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Some evening activities for guests would be an improvement.
Sensational setting in the rainforest overlooking the Mossman River. Terrific gourmet cuisine, wonderful staff - luxury in every sense. Thoroughly recommended for that really special time away.
Unfortunately, we were there during cyclone Monica and did not get to enjoy most of what Silky Oaks offers. However, the staff were very nice and the food was very good.
