Silom City Hotel Bangkok

Nice humble hotel with basic stuff yet the price you get for the hotel is great! It is cheap yet comfortable. The room was clean and it had everything we excepted. The bed was huge and very very comfortable. The location is also nice and relatively close to the metro station (10 min walk).

The hotel is quite modest but for the price you pay per night it cannot get any better. the bed is huge king size and very comfortable and it is clean. You also get free 2 botlles of water evey day. Bathroom could be a little more modern but for this great price it is more than OK and the location is very nice, close to many nice restaurants, metro, etc.

I had stayed at another hotel in BKK but decided to relocate to Silom City Hotel and I was pleasantly surprised as to what I received. I had booked the smaller of the rooms, but upgraded on arrival as the rooms really were small. The new rooms were large and clean and had everything you could ask for. I was a amused by the extent to which the mini-bar was stocked (with Durex too!). The staff were, on the whole, friendly. As seemed to be the case for the whole of Thailand, English was only basic both in speaking and comprehension. I know I should not expect people to speak English, but having been to Cambodia and Vietnam where their English is excellent, I was expecting more of Thailand. Some of the staff did come over as distant, but that did not hamper my stay. I would certainly stay there again. Location wise? It's a little way away from things but walking down Silom Road was a pleasure from the hotel as there was always something to see.

excellent value. hotel a bit hard to find but easy walk to silom area

Stayed in Junior Suite - large comfy room - well liked. Housekeeping and Bell Boys etc very good. Breakfast poor. Internet access erratic between slow and dead.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street and has a very good and friendly service. The breakfast is very good. The only problem is, that the taxis have problems finding the hotel. We will come back.

Three nights in a hotel on a good location in Bangkok. I will use it sureky again.

If you plan on taking advantage of the provided breakfast, this hotel had the best of the various hotels I stayed in Thailand during my two weeks. Other places I did not even bother with after the first morning, but Silom City had great fresh fruits, cooked to order eggs, and a nice choice of asian and western (with mixed result) dishes.

Stayed in Deluxe Suite - fantastic room for the price. All staff at the hotel very helpful - will definitely stay there again.

It was near the main road. Easy access and easily found. Good for hte airport bus too, only 5 mins walk. Supermarket and convenient stores nearby (5 mins walk) Taxis and Tuk Tuks everywhere. Hotel was ok. TV wasn't working well. Had CNN and BBC English channels. Ordered single room but got double room...great. Very spacious. Normal facilities, and looks it's age (20 years?) Breakfast buffet was satisfactory. Staff helpful with all my questions. WOuld stay again if on a budget.

clean and good breakfast but not convenient walking distance to anywhere

Had a problem at check-in, as the cleak asked for the payment of full amount, ignoring the paid deposit clearly mentioned on the voucher. Then some time and discussion for exchanging the quoted USD amount to THB, so the clerk apparently did not understand the system. Otherwise, staff are freindy, and location is convenient with quiet sorroundings.

It's a perfectly fine hotel for the very reasonable price. The staff are extremely nice and friendly. The hotel is well situated to get around, not far from the SkyTrain. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
