Silveroaks Hotel Geyserland Guest Reviews

Located just next to a volcanic mud pool, I can see steam rising and boiling mud from my room, very nice view. Ample parking space and a short drive to town area, abt 5 minutes. Staffs are very firendly and helpful, you can't ask for more.

We got a fantastic price but was overall disappointed. The unit was clean which was great but we didn't enjoy hearing the man in the next unit snore all night! Our room also had ventian blinds which meant the light outside our unit shone through all night. So it was a rather long night.

I was somewhat hesitant to book after reading some of the previous comments posted. But we found breakfast fresh and excellent. Our room on level 3 had a panoramic view of the active thermal area. We were very satisfied with our three day sojourn there. Definitely great for the tarriff.

Easy to find; friendly reception, good facilities, brilliant view from rooms out onto thermal area. Across road from golf course, adjacent to NZ top tourist attraction, 2 minutes from great downtown dining. Will go again - soon.

Fantastic view of geysers from balcony. Looking for the volume control early on but the sound of the springs were rhymic.

This hotel has the most amazing view - the best of any hotel we have ever stayed at. It is such a shame that the management seem to have let things slide - as this hotel could be truly awesome. The room was reasonably priced and came with a complimentary devon tea - although the restruant staff didn't seem to know anything about it. The biggest disappointment was the level of cleanliness. We found some long, lank hairs in the bath (at least they weren't short and curly), discarded beer cans in the abandoned spa pool and dirt under the bottom seats in the sauna. There is a disclaimer from the management in the hotel information pack in each room explaining that due to the sulphur in the area things can appear grubby when in fact they are clean. This wasn't convincing. Staff are friendly and service was good. The rooms are a little run down - worn furniture, loose fittings on the sliding doors on the balcony, rattling fans, but - like I say - the views are stunning.

The view is just stunning!!! It is a 5 star view at an amazing price. Although the decor dated and fittings are quite minimal the room was spacious and functional. Overall the value for money was outstanding.

Excellent Geyser view room. If staying here don't do the Te Po Maori experience as you will be seeing the same geyser that you get for free from the hotel. Do the Mitai or Tamaki experience instead. The hotel is excellent including the hot pools. Stayed twice and enjoyed it both times.

You get what you pay for so you do get your monies worth and it was great to wake up and look at the Geyser each morning (for something tourist and people have to pay to see) where we get to see for free. Breakfast was very good! Good cleanliness and facilities. The service could have been a bit better - welcoming and just suggesting what we may want to do around the area. Overall it was a plesant stay, wonderful view/food and will defanately come back again. Really recommend this Hotel.

Although probably one of the older hotels in Rotorua, our room was large, and very clean. I couldnt fault the service of the staff who were more than helpful, which made for a very enjoyable stay. We would definitely go back to this hotel without hesistation.

It was good, had Standard accommodation which was comfortable. The only problem I had with it was the breakfast was lacking. I found all the cereal was stale and soggy everyday with not much other alternative.

Thank you Silveroaks, we had a wondeful 3 day stay. My family spoke about having the best view as we woke up to the beautiful Whakarewarewa geyser view, absolutely stunning..........meals were great, swimming pool was a great for the kids. Location was also excellent, just far enough away from the city maddness. Thank you also to the reception ladies, you are very much an integral part to the motel.......thanks!!!!

The hotel itself is pretty average, rather old, but with some refurbishment. The bonus is the Geyser view right from the window, and the breakfast included.

Toilet flush box free flowing and was not fixed during our stay. The view of the Gyesers is great but beware that the sulfur content in the air is high and might cause you respiratory problems. The air is certainly well beyond any health limits in any western country regarding air quality next to industrial sits....
