Getting there:To/From the Airports : Auckland's international and domestic airports are located 23 kilometres from the central city. Allow yourself 45 minutes travel to/from SKCYITY Hotel. A taxi or airport shuttle, is readily available outside the arrivals lounge at the airport. Alternatively contact Concierge for details or bookings. Buses : The Link Bus departs every 15-20 mins from Victoria St and provides a free service within the central Auckland circuit. Buses to all other areas are available from Victoria St or outside the Sky Tower for approx $2-4 per trip. For additional transport options contact Concierge for details.
Check-in Procedure:Please note SKYCITY Hotel has a no party policy. A valid credit card (NOT debit card) is required upon arrival. Guests paying by debit card will need to present a valid credit card on arrival. NZ$500 Cash Bond + Nightly rate will be required upon check-in if paying Cash / EFTPOS/Visa Debit. An imprint of your credit card will be taken and the final bill will be settled on check out. Please note that you may be asked for photo ID at time of check in.
Car parking:Self car parking is offered in the SKYCITY building at a charge of $20.00 per day for hotel guests (one entry, one exit). Please validate your parking ticket at hotel reception upon checkout. Alternatively valet parking is available at a charge of $35.00 per day.
Child Policy:Up to 2 children under the age of 14 years may share a room with a paying adult free of charge (using existing bedding). If a rollaway is required, a charge of $34.50 is incurred. Cots for infants are available free of charge.
Check in was very easy. Staff were very pleasant and explained facilities and how to use the key to our room.
Very good locations. Besides being the centre of shopping and F&B, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. There is also a bus terminal for long distance near by. It is recommended to stay for conveninece, but if stay a week or longer, apartment type hotel would be better as it provides kitchen and better price. Staff of the hotel were OK but lacks of explanation. For instance, a staff asked me to sign on a blank credit card. When told him that I already paid , he just asked me to sign again without explanation. There are some other similar occations, too.

Nice location, but only free wireless available at the lobby with limited time access, room is clean and spacious.

Very unfriendly front desk staff soured the experience right from the start. But the drilling and hammering outside the window at 6:30am really ruined the stay

Was a bit of a computer malfunction but staff handled it very well! Would go again. Room was Amazing! Staff friendly and always willing to help! Ate at Rebo, food was nice. BBQ ran out of gas but we were offered free drinks while we waited for our meals.

Excellent, spacious reasonably priced rooms. 5 star service, very central, and staff always helpful, professional and courteous. And when you win at the poker tables (as we did) it more than pays for the whole weekend
Very nice place to stay,I stayed there about 10 years ago and like it then and still found it the same,location is close to everything and the room was very clean and quiet,would recommend it.
We could not fault the cleanliness of our room and its facilities. Of course it is in a great location of the City, you can walk almost anywhere. Great service and reasonably priced. Will definately book again at this Hotel and recommend others to stay there.
Current major renovation on the top floor of one wing means the pool was unavailable during Jan 2011 (until when???). Staff moved us to another wing as the noise in the daytime was unacceptable. Other than that, good service, and great location.

Arrived early and room was not ready but they found a made up room for us (great service). Excellent service all the time had breakfast in REBO on the ground floor excellent service and value for money.
The hotel is well situated minutes from the middle of Queen Street and has a great selection of entertainment on site due to the Casino. Yummy breakfast buffet in Fortuna but no service. The Terrace offerred a few additional dishes to their buffet breakfast but the service was fantastic. The Skycity Hotel pool was closed and we had to use the Grand Hotel's pool instead. Their Pool and gym/sauna/spa were well used during our stay. Cleaning and reception staff were friendly and professional.
We were delighted to be informed upon arrival at SKYCITY reception that we had been updated to the Grand Hotel. This was fine however as we have stayed at SKYCITY on a number of occasions before we noticed the difficulty of transporting luggage from the car in the SKYCITY carpark to the room in the Grand. When in SKYCITY we can take luggage directly from the lift in the carpark to the floor we are staying on, however this is not possible when staying in the Grand and was a frustration having to transport luggage through the main foyer of SKYCITY, actoss Federal St, through the Grand's reception to a lift and then up to our room, and the reverse when leaving 2 days later. Apart from that it is definitely a lovely and very luxurious stay.
