"It is said it's in the palace and it is, but inside is just normal 3* hotel, nothing special. Very simple. The room was clean, only basic amenities - soap and a sachet of shampoo.
There was no lift to the entrance as well as to the room, so it would be difficult for someone with a big luggage.
Convenient location since it is in centre, but it gets quite noisy in the night from the bar on the other side of the hotel." - Anonymous
"Can't fault cleanliness, however the reception and breakfast service staff are disinterested, the only additional facility was access to a fridge of water (which I had to pay over the odds for) and the breakfast was unpleasant - the milk, yoghurt and cream cheese were warm, the frankfurters were cold, the selection in general was poor. I felt unwell for the rest of the day.
The room also had an overpowering smell of disinfectant and the bed only had access on one side. There was no bin in the main bedroom and the bathroom was without shower gel and the corner shelf in the shower was broken and sat in the shower tray.

Hotel Slavija is located in the very centre of the town of Split, in what used to be the Emperor's quarters of the Diocletian's Palace. The Palace is included in the register of the World's Cultural Heritage as a zero-category monument, under the protection of UNESCO. The Hotel itself is protected as a part of Croatian Cultural Heritage.
The Hotel is actually a renaissance palace built in the 17th century and is a valuable example of renaissance architecture. Slavija was first opened in 1900, which makes it Split’s Hotel with the longest tradition.
Hotel Slavija has 25 rooms, and is ideal for both business and pleasure travelers because of its location. Hotel is situated in the very center of the city and is but a few minutes walk from all the major attractions as well as from the main bus terminal, airport shuttle terminal, railway station and ferry. Both fish market and main market is just a couple of minutes walk from the Hotel. The nearest beach is just 10 minutes walk from the Hotel.
Guests can choose between single, standard or twin double, triple or four bedded rooms. Hotel also has two suites with separated living areas and one of them has a large terrace overlooking Split old town’s rooftops. Rooms 404 and 405 (triple rooms) also have this amazing feature, which is quite rare to come by in the old town.

Hotel Slavija is located in the Diocletian's Palace, in the very center of Split. If you are arriving by car, just go straight from the entrance to the city and follow the signs to the Palace. When you arrive to a big parking lot at the end of Riva (Promenade), you are just 200 meters from the Hotel.
If you are coming to Split either by bus, ferry or railway, Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the bus and train station, and the ferry port. Hotel is also just a couple of minutes walk from the airport shuttle terminal.
The easiest way to find us is to go to Riva (Promenade). When you come to the middle of Riva, you will see a square with a statue of Marko Marulić. From there go on your right from the bank on the same square and go up the steps to the entrance to the Hotel. |
